DBT JRF Eligibility Criteria 2022: The Department of Biotechnology (DBT)  is an exam conducted for candidates interested to build their careers for research in the field of Science and Technology. This exam is conducted for the selection of candidates for a Junior Research Fellowship in Biotechnology. The DBT JRF 2022 admissions test will be held on the 23rd of April, 2022. The interested candidates must look into the DBT JRF 2022 Eligibility Criteria before filling out the application form for the exam. Qualification required for DBT JRF Exam 2022

The candidates applying for the DBT JRF Exam 2022 must possess any of the following degrees mentioned below to be eligible for the exam.

  • M.Sc./ M.V.Sc./M.Tech/ 
  • Integrated BS-MS/ B.Tech/B.E in any Biotechnology discipline
  • M.Sc./ M.Tech (Bioinformatics/ Microbiology/ Life Science/ Bioscience/ Computational Biology/Zoology/ Botany/Biophysics / Biochemistry)

Age Limit For DBT JRF 2022 Exam

The candidates can check the age limit applicable to them according to their categories 

  • General Category Candidates: The candidates who belong to the general category must not exceed the age of 28 years as of the date of application for the exam.
  • SC/ST/Differently Abled/Women categories: The candidates from any of these categories will be granted a 5-year age relaxation. Therefore, they must not exceed the age of 33 years as on the date of application for the exam.
  • OBC category: The candidates belonging from the OBC category be given 2 years of age relaxation as o the date of application for the exam.

Nationality 

The candidates applying for the DBT JRF 2022 Examination should be Indian citizens and should also hold government Validated documents to prove their nationality.

Marks Required 

The candidates applying for the exam should not only hold any of the degrees mentioned above to be eligible for the exam but should have also received at least 60% in their respective qualifying degrees. The candidates belonging to the  SC/ ST/ differently-abled candidates are given the relaxation of 5% and will be eligible for 55% off marks in their qualifying degrees. 

Number Of Attempts and Experience Required

The candidates interested to apply for the DBT JRF Exam 2022 should acknowledge that there is a maximum of 3 attempts that they have to qualify for the exam. Any candidate who has already been given 3 attempts to qualify for the exam, is not eligible to give the exam in the 4th round.

There is no prior work experience required to be eligible for the DBT JRF Exam 2022.
