DAF UPSC also known as the Detailed Application Form is for the candidates who have cleared the Prelims examination. These selected candidates have to go appear for the UPSC Mains exam, and before that, they have to fill up the DAF UPSC form. UPSC DAF Form 2023

The UPSC DAF form 2023 will be released on the official portal, and the candidates cracking the prelims exam will be able to move ahead in the recruitment process. It is made official after the prelims result, and the selected candidates need to submit it before the last date to appear in the mains exam. The Union Public Service Commission released the DAF UPSC Mains 2022 on the official website on 22nd January. The DAF full form is the Detailed Application form.

UPSC DAF Form Meaning

DAF UPSC of Detailed Application Form for the IAS exam is the application form that candidates need to fill out and upload on the official website of UPSC to apply for the mains exam. Those who clear the prelims exam would be eligible to apply DAF form. The application for mains is known as UPSC DAF 1 whereas, for the interview, applicants must submit DAF 2. Below we will be covering how to fill up the DAF form but before that let’s take a look at the important guidelines to follow below.

  • Candidates shouldn’t send the “DAF print preview or original one” to UPSC by mistake. The DAF form UPSC must be submitted on the official website of UPSC only.
  • Candidates must register themselves by creating an account. They need to fill up their names, DOB, roll numbers, and Mail IDs on the DAF registration module.
  • Candidates will get a password on their registered phone number and Mail ID. By using the password they will have to again log in with the roll number as the username and password that is sent to them by UPSC.
  • The UPSC DAF form comprises six modules- Personal information, educational information, parental information, employment information, documents uploading, and final submission.
  • Candidates must remember that before final submission, they are allowed to make changes. However, no changes will be allowed after the final submission.

How to Fill DAF Form UPSC?

  • Visit the official website of UPSC -upsconline.nic. in/daf/daf1_csm_2022/

  • Enter your Login ID/Roll No, Password and Captcha 
  • Click on “Login”

  • Pay the fee of Rs.200/- either by cash or online. 

Points to Remember While Filling UPSC DAF Form

The DAF form consists of 8 parts, and candidates need to fill up each part. The candidates need to be extra careful while filling up UPSC DAF form because once the form is submitted, candidates won’t have a chance to change it.

  • After filling in the details of the fee paid on page 1, candidates need to sign on the right bottom of the page.
  • Candidates need to provide the proper main address on page. Candidates need to make sure there is no fancy email address used for the UPSC DAF Form.
  • The optional subject can’t be changed later. In addition, candidates need to make the right choice of language medium for the interview. Candidates need to sign on the right bottom of the page
  • Be very careful when filling out the educational and employment details in the DAF UPSC Form.
  • The summary sheet of the UPSC DAF form contains the details of educational qualifications, extracurricular, and hobbies.
  • The summer sheet will be seen by each board member and questions would be asked from this page. Here the candidates also need to sign at the bottom of this page.
  • Candidates need to sign on the two places on the last page. One sign is after the declaration para and the other one is at the end of the page.

Documents Required for UPSC DAF

While filling up the DAF UPSC form candidates must keep the list of documents that we have mentioned below. Candidates must remember that the documents should be scanned with good clarity, documents should be consolidated into a single PDF, and also the PDF must be unlocked.
