Earlier, IIM- A had opened the “candidate response” and “objection management” tabs for CAT 2021 from December 8 (10 AM) till December 11 (5 PM). During this duration, candidates were able to view the CAT 2021 answer key alongside their individual responses to questions. Based on the raw scores obtained by analyzing the answer key, candidates can approximately predict their CAT 2021 percentile range with the help of CAT Score vs Percentile trend for the last five years. An overall raw score of 95-97 should most likely fetch a 99 percentile in CAT exam.
IIM-A will thoroughly examine the objections raised by candidates before releasing the final answer key and CAT 2021 scorecards. Below are the important dates related to the CAT 2021 result.

CAT 2021 Percentile Calculation
Many candidates are often confused about CAT Percentile calculations. Percentile refers to the percentage of candidates who receive a score less than or equal to the score obtained by the candidate. Since around 1.92 lakh candidates appeared for CAT 2021, someone with an overall 99 percentile, for instance, would rank among the top 1,920 candidates.
The overall percentile is calculated based on a candidate’s overall scaled score, while section-wise percentiles are calculated separately based on the candidate’s score in a particular section.
CAT 2021 Scaled Score and Normalization Process
The CAT 2021 exam was conducted in three slots with slightly varying difficulty levels. Hence, in order to ensure fairness and equality in the performance of candidates across all three slots, IIM-A will apply a normalization process to the raw scores of candidates. The CAT 2021 normalization process will take into account the section-wise and overall average performance of candidates and the scores of the top 0.1% candidates in each slot. The scaled scores obtained using this normalization process will form the basis of the percentile calculation.
What After CAT 2021 Results?
IIMs and several other prestigious B-schools in the country use CAT scores as part of their shortlisting and final selection process, while also taking into consideration a candidate’s academic and professional background. Each institute has unique selection criteria, assigning different weightage to CAT score, work experience, academic and gender diversity, and 10th, 12th, and graduation scores.
