SBI PO Selection Process 2023

The SBI PO Selection Process consists of three stages, it is mandatory for all the candidates to successfully clear every stage to get the post of Probationary Officer in SBI. The standards under the SBI PO selection process are defined by the officials of the State Bank of India. SBI PO Selection Process - Prelims

The first phase of the SBI PO selection process 2023 is the preliminary examination. This is the qualifying stage, meaning the scores obtained in this stage will not be added to the final result. The candidates will be shortlisted for the Mains examination from a list of the total number of candidates who appeared for the Prelim Examination

  • The number of candidates to be shortlisted for SBI PO Mains will be decided by the SBI based on the vacancies available. In each category, the number of candidates to be selected for the next phase (Main Examination) will be approximately 10 times the number of total vacancies.
  • The Marks obtained in the Prelim Exam will not be added anywhere in the selection procedure. But the candidates need to get qualified in this stage to move further.

SBI PO Selection Process - Mains

This is the second phase of the SBI PO selection process 2023. The applicants who will ace the Preliminary stage of the SBI PO Recruitment Process will advance to the Mains stage. The details of the second phase of the screening process are schematized in tabular format herewith.

  • Both the tests will be conducted online.
  • Candidates have to answer the Descriptive test by typing on their keyboards.
  • Descriptive Tests will be administered immediately after completion of the Objective Test.
  • Category-wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in the Main Examination.
  • Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approximately) of the category-wise vacancies will be shortlisted for the Group Exercise & Interview from the top of the merit list, subject to a candidate scoring a minimum qualifying score in aggregate.

SBI PO Selection Process 2023 - Interview/ GD

In the case that a candidate satisfies the cutoff for passing the SBI PO Mains exam, they will be invited to a group discussion. Candidates will be contacted for the personal interview stage of the SBI PO selection process after the group discussion session, during which they will be asked about their qualifications and other characteristics in addition to their personality.

  • 20 points are awarded for the group exercise or discussion.
  • 30 points are awarded for the personal interview portion.
  • The marks earned in the Mains exam and the GD/ PI round will be used to determine the final merit list.
  • The final merit list will not include the preliminary exam score.
  • The board will conduct all of the interviews before creating the final merit list, and candidates will only be hired if all of their documentation has been satisfactorily confirmed.

SBI PO Final Selection

Final selection is the last step in the SBI PO selection process. Candidates selected in this round are applicable for the desired job of SBI PO.

  • The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added to preparing the final merit list for selection.
  • Only the marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II), both in Objective Test and Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in GE & Interview (Phase-III) for preparing the final merit list. The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase II and Phase III separately.
  • Marks secured by the candidates in the Main Examination (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Exercises & Interviews (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25.
  • The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating converted marks of Main Examination and Group Exercises & Interview out of 100.
  • The selection will be made from the top merit-ranked candidates in each category.
