The five examples of Actual resources are coal, petroleum, soil, mines, and trees. On the other hand, the five examples of potential resources are uranium, paper, solar power, mineral oil, and high-speed wind. On the basis of the development and use of resources, they are classified into two groups, actual resources, and potential resources.

What are Actual and Potential Resources?

The resources whose quantity is known are called Actual resources. They are being used in the present. On other hand, the resources whose entire quantity may not be known and are not being used at present are called potential resources. Potential resources could be used in the future.

Resources can be defined as anything that can be used to satisfy a need such as clothes, utensils, foodgrains, combs, this bottle of honey, books, etc. There are three types of resources namely natural resources, human-made resources, and human resources.
