The Constitution of India is the longest written constitution in the world, with a total of 146,385 words. The Indian Constitution not only defines the laws of the country but also states the fundamental rights of all the citizens of India.

Reasons why the Constitution is Important

There are many reasons why we need a constitution, and some of them are listed below:

  • It provides a specific legal framework that ensures that people get justice.
  • The constitution specifies the type of government the country has and how it must function.
  • It lays down the limitations of the government and its powers.
