None of the above options are Biodegradable Waste. Biodegradable are substances capable of being broken down by living organisms such as bacteria, microorganisms, etc. Examples include- Food Products, Paper, Organic Waste, Cow dung, Paper, etc. Humans manufacture many products that get wasted and thrown away, causing a lot of harm to the environment. The living organism breaks down the ‘biodegradable’ wastes through biological processes. Biodegradable wastes vary and hence take different time periods to get broken down.

What are Biodegradable Wastes?
Biodegradable waste includes food waste, kitchen waste, and other naturally occurring trash. Wastes readily decomposed by abiotic elements like temperature, UV, oxygen, and other elements, as well as by natural elements like microorganisms (such as bacteria, fungus, and a few others), are known as biodegradable wastes. For instance, waste produced in a kitchen containing vegetable peels is natural or biodegradable. On the other hand, waste that consists of plastic products like straws and plastic plates is non-biodegradable. Simply put, the latter form of waste is not environmentally friendly.
Microorganisms break down complex compounds into organic stuff that finally suspends and disperses throughout the ground with other abiotic components.
A critical issue that has concerned environmentalists for a long time and is starting to affect the world population is waste management. With climate change posing a serious threat, it is crucial that companies that produce high amounts of non-biodegradable waste come up with better ways to manage it.
Examples of Biodegradable wastes

- Papers
- Human waste
- Sewage sludge
- Dead animals and plants
- Hospital waste
- Food waste
