The Largest Gland in the Human Body is the liver. The liver comprises wedge-shaped lobes and performs various metabolic and secretory tasks. Bile, a digestive fluid, is secreted by the liver, which also breaks down proteins, sugars, and fats, stores glycogen, vitamins, and other compounds, produces blood-clotting factors, filters waste products and hazardous materials from the circulation, controls blood volume, and eliminates old red blood cells from the body.

Largest Gland in the Human Body
The liver is the biggest gland in the human body. It is found on the right side of the stomach. The falciform ligament separates the liver’s left and right lobes. Hepatocytes, the cells that make up the liver, can multiply in response to liver injury. Bile ducts and blood arteries go through a mass of cells that make up liver tissue.
About 60% of the tissue’s cells are hepatic, which perform more metabolic tasks than any other type of cell in the body. The second class of cells, known as Kupffer cells, line the tiniest blood vessels in the liver and are involved in the generation of antibodies, the absorption of foreign substances, and the removal of cellular waste.
