Siachen Glacier is a part of Ladakh situated on the North of Nubra Valley, which is part of the eastern Karakoram range in the Himalayan mountains. Sometimes Karakoram range is also known as the third pole. Karakoram range lies to the northwest of the valley and connects the Nubra river with the Uyghur river. Nubra river is the tributary of the Shyok river. At the same time, K12 mountain is also found near Siachen Valley. It is the second longest glacier in non-polar regions of the world, and earlier, it was also part of the ancient Himalayan trade path which connected China to the Middle East.

Around 35.421226°N 77.109540°E, in the eastern Karakoram range of the Himalayas, is where you may find the Siachen Glacier. Since 1984, India has had control over the whole Siachen Glacier, including all significant borders.

At 76 km (47 mi) long, this glacier is the longest in the Karakorum.
