Location of the Satellite Launching Station

The Satellite launching station of India is located at Sriharikota (Andhra Pradesh). The Sriharikota Range is an important Spaceport of India responsible for providing Launch Base Infrastructure for the Indian Space Programme. Earlier it was known as the Sriharikota Range – SHAR.

The Satish Dhawan Space Centre – SDSC is the new name of the SHAR center. It has been named after Satish Dhawan, an Indian aerospace engineer, and mathematician, who is often referred to as the father of experimental fluid dynamics research.
