1. NH4 – This highway is from Mumbai to Chennai, also known as Pune-Mumbai highway & is the major part of golden quadrilateral highway.
2. NH6 – It is considered as the busiest highway in India & runs through Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal state in India. The highway passes through the cities of Surat, Dhule, Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Akola, Amravati, Nagpur, Bhandara, Durg, Raipur, Mahasamund, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, and Kolkata.
3. NH12 – This highway runs entirely in Madhya Pradesh.
4. NH14 – This highway runs from Rajasthan to Gujarat & passes through Beawar-Sirohi-Radhanpur.
5. NH15 – This highway runs from Punjab to Gujarat & passes through Pathankot- Amritsar-Jaisalmer- Samkhiyali.
6. NH50 – This highway starts its junction from NH161 in Maharastra connecting Bidar, Humnabad, Gulbarga, Jewargi, Bijapur, Hospet and terminating at NH48 near Lakshmisagar (260.81 km).
The Bidar to Hospet stretch is being upgraded to a four-lane, 60-meter wide grade-separated highway.
7. NH79 – This highway is entirely in the state of Tamil Nadu & connects NH44, NH544, NH68 & SH69 at Ulundurpettai.
8. NH204 – This highway runs entirely in Maharashtra. The highway passes through the Western Ghats (Sahyadri Mountains) and is an important arterial road connecting the Konkan region with Western Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidharbha regions in the state of Maharashtra.
Till 2009, NH 204 was 126 km long highway but In 2009, NHAI has announced the extension of existing NH 204 to Nagpur via Kolhapur-Miraj- Solapur-Tuljapur-Latur-Nanded-Yavatmal-Wardha and connect it to the NH 7 at Butibori near Nagpur.
9. NH211 – This is a major highway in the state of Maharashtra in the middle of the country India with a length of 453 kilometers . It begins in Dhule on NH 3 and runs through Chalisgaon , Aurangabad , Beed and Osmanabad to Solapur to NH . 9

1. NH36 – Nowgong-Dimapur(Manipur Road)
2. NH37 –Junction with National Highway No. 31B near Goalpara- Guwahati-Jorabat-Kamargaon-Makum-Saikhoaghat-Roing
3. NH39 – This highway passes from Assam, Nagaland & Manipur.
4. NH40 – This highway was previously the Combination of NH4 & NH18. It starts from NH4 Junction & passes through terminates in Tamil Nadu.
5. NH53 – This highway starts from the junction of NH 44 at Badarpur & connects Badarpur, Assam with Imphal, Manipur.

Yojna
“Setu Bharatam” Yojna launched by Shri Narendra Modi on 4th March 2016. Setu Bharatam is an ambitious programme launched to buils bridges for safe & seamless travel on National Highways with an investment of Rs. 50,000 Crore. The programme aims at making all national highways Railway Level Crossing free by 2019 & 208 new “road over bridges / road under bridges” are envisaged for construction, while 1500 bridges will be widened, rehabilitated or replaced.
