Punjab Police SI: Age Limit

To apply for Punjab Police SI Exam, the Punjab Police SI age limit is defined for different categories. Punjab Police SI Age Criteria for general male is 18 – 28 years. Punjab Police SI upper age limit for the remaining categories are:

Punjab Police SI Salary

All the candidates who will be appointed as Punjab Police Sub Inspector in different cadres of Punjab Police will be given a salary of Rs.35,400/- (minimum pay admissible) at Level 6 of 7th CPC/Pay Matrix.

However, the candidates will have to remain on probation for a period of 3 years. During these 3 years, only minimum pay admissible will be paid. No increment annual increment and any other allowances except travelling allowance will be given to the candidates.

Punjab Police SI Selection Process

Punjab Police SI selection process involves the following stages as mentioned below. 

Stage I: Written exam - It consists consisting of 2 (two) multiple-choice question papers that will be conducted on the same day.

Stage II: Physical Measurement Test - This stage involves three rounds as mentioned below. All the following stages will be held on the same day. PMT and PST will be qualifying in nature.

All the candidates will have to fulfill the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Screening Test (PST). Both these tests shall be qualifying in nature. The PST and PMT for Punjab Police SI will be held for those candidates who will qualify for the written exam. The criteria for qualifying the Punjab Police SI PMT and PST are as follows.

Punjab Police SI Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

The Punjab Police SI physical measurement test will be conducted before the PST. This is meant to measure the candidate’s height. The Punjab Police PMT is qualifying in nature.

The CBT for Punjab Police SI shall be an online test comprising multiple-choice questions. 

  • The Question Papers shall be bilingual viz. in Punjabi and English.
  • There shall be 100 questions of 4 marks each for Paper 1 and Paper 2. Thus, each paper will be 400 marks
  • The duration for each paper, i.e. Paper 1 and 2 shall be 2 hours
  • Negative marking for incorrect answers shall be to the tune of 25% of the marks assigned to a question that is 1 mark

Punjab Police SI Admit Card 2022

Punjab Police SI Admit Card 2022 for the written exam has been released on its official website. Each candidate appearing for the Punjab Police SI exam will be given a specific date, time, and venue to appear for the exam. All the candidates will further be required to download the Punjab Police SI hall ticket and bring a hard copy (printout) of the same, along with a Photo Identity Proof.
