APPSC Group 1 exam pattern 2022 is released by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) to inform you about the exam's different stages. APPSC Group 1 exam is divided into the Prelims, Mains, and Interview process.

To give you a brief idea of APPSC group 1 exam pattern, Prelims exam is objective in nature while the Mains is conventional. There shall be a negative marking of 1/3rd only in Prelims. Thus, candidates need to devote their time equally to prepare for both stages. Candidates applying for APPSC Group 1 exam 2022 must be thoroughly aware of its exam pattern to develop a study plan for the exam accordingly. APPSC Group 1 Exam Pattern 2022

APPSC Group 1 exam pattern 2022 is divided into two stages: Prelims and Mains, followed by an interview. Candidates who crack the exam must have complete knowledge of the APPSC Group 1 exam pattern. Knowing the exam pattern for each stage helps you know the marking scheme and weightage allotted to each subject.

The Prelims exam is objective in nature, whereas Mains exam is descriptive in nature. In addition to this, APPSC Group 1 syllabus has a vast topic. APPSC Group 1 exam pattern for prelims includes two papers, namely General Aptitude and General Studies. Both the papers of the prelims exam are held in one day. 

  • APPSC Group 1 Prelim exam is also known as a screening test and it is qualifying in nature. 
  • Both papers consist of 120 marks each along with negative marking.
  • Candidates who clear the Prelims, can appear for mains exam.

APPSC Group 1 Mains Exam Pattern

APPSC Group 1 main exam pattern varies from the prelims pattern as it is a descriptive paper with 7 subjects. Those who crack the Prelims exam will be eligible to appear for APPSC Group 1 exam. 

  • There will be a total of 7 papers, from which two papers will be qualifying in nature, and five papers are merit ranking.
  • All the papers will be descriptive and include 150 marks.

APPSC Group 1 Interview

The candidates who qualify for APPSC Group 1 mains exam will call a personal interview, which will be 75 marks. APPSC Group 1 interview is a final selection process conducted at the commission’s premises in Vijayawada. The candidates will be asked questions about their own academic background, their city of residence or city of education, current events, and the issues important to Andhra Pradesh. The main aim of the interview is to evaluate the personality and suitability of the candidate for the job.

  • APPSC Group 1 exam pattern 2022 is conducted in two stages- Prelims, Mains, and Interview. APPSC Group 1 exam pattern for prelims includes two papers with objective-type questions in which both the papers are qualifying in nature. The APPSC Group 1 mains paper pattern includes 7 papers of 150 marks each.

  • According to APPSC Group 1 prelims exam pattern, there are two papers i.e.  General Studies and General Aptitude. Each paper carries 120 marks, and the time duration will be 120 minutes. In addition to this, there is  ⅓ negative marking in this paper.

  • As per APPSC Group 1 exam pattern for mains exam, there will be 7 papers in the Mains exam. Of these 7 papers, two will be qualifying in nature i.e.,  English, Telugu, and the other five papers include General Essay,  History, Culture and Geography of India and Andhra Pradesh, Polity, Constitution, Governance, Law and Ethics, Economy and Development of India and Andhra Pradesh, and  Science and Technology.

  • According to APPSC Group 1 exam pattern, of marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in the Prelims exam. That is why candidates are advised to attempt the Prelims exam carefully and not take any risks.

  •  APPSC Group 1 mains exam is the, which is the second stage and has nine papers. These nine papers are as follows: English, Telugu, Paper 1 – General Essay, Paper 2 – History, Culture and Geography of India and Andhra Pradesh, Paper 3 – Polity, Constitution, Governance, Law and Ethics, Paper 4 – Economy and Development of India and Andhra Pradesh, Paper 5 – Science and Technology.
