Unit I: Teaching Aptitude
This section focuses on the psychology of candidates. This section's only objective is to gauge how well potential instructors comprehend the nature of teaching and the resources available to learners. This section includes important topics such as teaching concepts and objectives, learner characteristics for adolescents and adults, how they differ, and support systems for teachers.
Unit II: Research Aptitude
This section's objective is to assess the candidate's research skills and knowledge, as its name suggests. Since most of you have experience writing your own research papers for graduation and post-graduate, this component should be very easy for most candidates. Research and its meaning, types, characteristics, and methodology, as well as research methods like experimental, descriptive, historical, qualitative, and quantitative research, are important topics in this section used for GSET Preparation.
Unit III: Comprehension
In this section, questions will be based on a paragraph that will be supplied to the candidates. Candidates need to read the passage and respond to the questions carefully. You will receive a full score for this unit if you read the information carefully. A basic understanding of grammar will be very helpful.
Unit IV: Communication
The candidates' knowledge of the communication system and channel is examined in this section. An in-depth discussion of communication modes and methods is also covered in this section. The unit is a little challenging. Therefore, reading the questions attentively is essential for acing it. Candidates must always answer the questions about seating arrangements in this part. Number series, letter series, codes, relationships, fractions, time & distance, ratio & proportion, percentage, profit & loss, interest, etc., are a few important topics.
Unit VI: Logical Reasoning
There are at least 6-7 questions from this section, which is pretty lengthy. The same rules apply as in the previous unit. Thorough reading and comprehension of the questions are essential for success. Candidates must have read quite a bit about their core topics, but they must also commit 5 -10 minutes daily. Analogies and Venn diagrams, assessing and differentiating deductive and inductive reasoning, argument forms and structures, mood and figure, formal and informal language use, connotations and denotations, and classical reasoning are all important topics.
Unit VII: Data Interpretation
The unit is time-consuming yet somewhat basic. As you may be aware, it is merely a straightforward computation after determining the data's connection. There are no quick fixes to the DI problem. Do not waste time on any one question in this section; keep in mind that each question is worth the same amount of marks. Sources, acquisition and classification of data, quantitative and qualitative data, graphic representation, data and governance, etc., are some of the noteworthy topics covered in this section.
Unit VIII: Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
This section won't cause you too much trouble in the present era of ubiquitous computers and mobile devices. Check the most up-to-date terms for computers and their accessories, and you'll be prepared to tackle this part. General abbreviations, Intranet, E-mail, conferencing, Digital initiatives in higher education, ICT and Governance, and general abbreviations are a few important topics.
Unit IX: People, Development and Environment
This section covers various subjects, including environmental, cultural, regional, national, and international issues. However, this unit's primary topics include Climate change, the environment, and sustainable development. This section's must-visit topic is the current summits on environmental issues.
Unit X: Higher Education System
Here, your knowledge of your duties as a professor within a college or in society at large will be put to the test. The main emphasis of this section is on the historical importance of learning, educational institutions, and learning programs.
