Detailed GSET Exam Eligibility Criteria 2021

As you all know that the GSET July 2021 Exam Application form is out. It is necessary to go through the GSET eligibility details before applying online. The GSET eligibility conditions include educational qualification, exemptions, relaxations and age limit.  The online application form of GSET July 2021 is available from June 21st to July 31st 2021. Candidates can apply online for the GSET July 2021 exam at the official website.

In order to apply for the GSET exam, it is crucial that the candidates meet the GSET eligibility criteria for 2021 to avoid disqualification. The GSET examination will be conducted in General Studies and 25 subjects in pen and paper mode (OMR based) in various centres spread over across the State. 

So, here is the detailed GSET exam eligibility conditions including the details of educational qualification and age limit for GSET. 

Age Eligibility for GSET Exam

No age limit is prescribed for candidates appearing for the SET. Gujarat SET exam 2021 is open for all age limits as long as you abide by the remaining criteria. 

GSET Exam Eligibility: Educational Qualification

Check the educational qualification required for the Gujarat SET exam 2021

  • Candidates must have a master's degree in GSET subject recognized by U.G.C. Candidates only need to apply for GSET in the graduate subject.
  • Candidates must have 55% marks in Masters.
  • Candidates from the SC/ST/OBC and PWD categories receive a 5% relaxation therefore, they must have at least 50% marks in masters. 

Acceptable fields are Sciences, Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications.

GSET Exam Eligibility for Final Year Students

Final-year students are eligible to take this exam if they meet the qualifying requirements after completing their master's degree.

  • Candidates studying for a master's degree or equivalent courses, candidates who have taken the master's qualification exam (last year) but whose results are still awaited, or candidates whose qualification exams are delayed can also apply for the GSET exam.

GSET Reservation Policy

  • A relaxation of 5 % is provided to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC and PWD category students.
  • Doctor Degree holders who completed the masters level exam prior to September 19, 1991 (regardless of the date results are announced) must be eligible to relax 5% of the total score (i.e., 55% to 50%) of appearing on the GSET exam.

GSET Exam Eligibility: Other Important Points

  • Candidates from other states, i.e., candidates from states other than Gujarat, who are in the reserved category, would be classified as General category candidates.
  • Candidates are required to send neither any certificates/documents in support of their eligibility nor print out of their Application Form (Confirmation Page) to the GSET office.
  • Candidates belonging to SC / ST / PwD (PH / VH)/ general category-EWS must have a valid category certificate issued by the competent authority of Gujarat and related Certificates to PwD (PH / VH). If GSET / UGC detects any disqualification at any stage, your application will be cancelled, your GSET certificate will be revoked and you will be liable for legal litigation.
