  • January 2021 – The APJ Abdul Kalam Study Centre at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong, which is supported by the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region (DoNER), will help in the implementation of the new National Education Policy (NEP) in the Northeast, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said.
  • March 2021- IIM Shillong signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO) on 11 March 2021.
  • May 2021 – Prof. Madan Pillutla, a well-known professor of Organisational Behaviour from London Business School, conducted an Inaugural Session for Leading and Managing post-covid: Preliminary hypothesis about what changes and what remains the same on 2 May 2021.
  • May 2021 – According to the latest news, IIM Shillong has conducted a General Management Program for India Oil Corporations Ltd Officials from 31 May 2021 to 5 June 2021.
  • July 2021 – Indian Institute of Management Shillong (Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Policy Research & Analysis) entered into an MoU with the Government of Arunachal Pradesh on 23 July 2021.

Indian Institute of Management Shillong Placements Process involves the following steps.

  • An interactive session is organized between students and company representatives where students get information about the job profiles, roles & responsibilities, job location, etc. These sessions are called Pre Placement Talks. Pre Placement Talks help students to decide and apply for the discussed job roles.
  • The profiles of interested candidates and other information are shared with recruiters.
  • Companies are invited on-campus to conduct recruitment drives according to the interest shown by the students.
  • Companies conduct group discussions and interviews of shortlisted students.
  • The recruiters declare the final results at the end of the process.
  • Companies make offers to the selected students. Students are required to select or reject the offer within a stipulated period.

IIM Shillong Selection Process

The Indian Institute of Shillong admission process is quite straightforward. It has not changed much over the years. It includes the following phases. All aspirants interested in IIM Shillong Admissions must be well acquainted with the entire selection process.

  • Phase 1- Entrance Exam: Firstly, all the candidates must complete the CAT/GMAT test if they want admission to IIM Shillong. The tests will be based on guidelines concerning nationality along with other factors.
  • Phase 2- Apply Online: After the candidate gets to know the scores of CAT/GMAT, then they have to apply for IIM Shillong Admissions online, which will be based on the norms of IIM Shillong. Usually, candidates must register and fill out an online application form on the official website.
  • Phase 3- Shortlisting: After completing the entrance exams and applying online, the candidates are then chosen for further rounds of selection depending upon the IIM Shillong Cut Off Marks released and the academic profiles of the applying candidates.
  • Phase 4- WAT/PI/GD: The candidates who have been shortlisted have to undergo the Writing Ability Test (WAT), Personal Interview (PI), and Group Discussions (GD), depending upon the courses they have applied for.

  • Library- The library of IIM Shillong is fully automated and has an avid collection of reference books, general books, textbooks, working papers, and other documents. The non-book collection section has a compact disc, video cassettes, etc. It is also equipped with relevant and requisite e-resources such as ebooks, databases, and e-journals.
  • The canteen/Cafeteria of IIM Shillong serves four meals a day, a variety of seasonal fruits, a variety of sweet dishes, and cuisines to suit the diverse palette of its students. Food is also available during the night for the students.
  • Hostel- Accommodation for both boys and girls with single and double occupancy rooms within the campus is available. Hostels are connected to a fast Wireless Mesh Network (WMN). The rooms of IIM Shillong are adequate in size and storage capacity, and the hostel also offers washing and ironing services. Visitors will have access to an intercom system as well as guest rooms.
