IIM Bangalore Placements Process
Below, you will find a step-by-step explanation of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore Placement Process.
- Pre-Placement Talks (PPTs): PPTs allow students and companies to interact and exchange information. Generally, a PPT is 45 minutes, during which company representatives talk about their organization and the employment opportunities they offer to IIM Bangalore students. The students use this time to assess the organization and opportunities. A question and answer session also form part of the PPT.
- Applications: Candidates apply to companies based on the company presentation and interest levels. These can be on company application forms or resumes as per company requirements. The applications are forwarded to the company within a specified period of time. The companies are provided sufficient time to evaluate the applications and shortlist candidates.
- Shortlisting: Companies are required to send the list of shortlisted candidates to the CDS Office at least one week before the commencement of final placement interviews. When the companies visit the campus, they can interview the shortlisted candidates and extend job offers to the selected ones.
- Interviews and Offer Letters: Companies make job offers after interviewing the candidates may accept or decline offers based on the placement rules. Companies are advised to maintain waitlists in case a student declines an offer. A formal offer letter must be sent to the CDS office within two weeks of the interview date.
The final selection is based on the CAT performance, Scholastic Achievement, Work Experience, performance in the Writing Ability Test, and Interview.

Indian Institute of Management Bangalore Admission Process
The IIM Bangalore MBA (2-year full-time programme) Admission Process 2022 has been designed to select the most deserving, meritorious and dynamic individuals for all its courses. IIM Admission Procedure involves significant phases that have been laid down below.
- Phase 1- Entrance Exam: All aspirants interested in applying for IIM Bangalore Admission are required to sit for CAT/GMAT based on the guidelines with respect to their nationality and other factors.
- Phase 2- Apply Online: Once the CAT/GMAT scores are out, aspirants are required to apply online for IIM Bangalore Admission as per IIM Bangalore Application Process norms.
- Phase 3- Shortlisting: Once the candidates are done with the entrance exam, they are selected based on their marks secured in the entrance exam and academic profiles for the next round of selection and relevant work experience.
- Phase 4- GD/WAT/PI: The shortlisted candidates have to go through Group Discussions (GD), a Writing Ability Test (WAT) and a Personal Interview (PI) as applicable.
- Phase 5-Final Selection: Once all the above steps are over, the final selection is made on the basis of CAT performance, Scholastic Achievement, Work Experience, performance in the Writing Ability Test, and Interview, and then the final merit list is rolled out.
Note that all stages of the IIM Bangalore Admission Procedure are equally important. Only the candidates who score the best in each round and meet each phase’s cut-off shall finally be selected.
