Last year, despite the pandemic and its effects on the market, IIM Shillong witnessed an increase in the average and median salary offered to the students. However, there has been a decrease of over 8 percent in the average of the top 20 percent of salaries offered to the batch. A significant section of the students has chosen either Consulting and Strategy or Sales and Marketing roles to begin their careers in management.

• An interactive session is organized between students and company representatives where students get information about the job profiles, roles & responsibilities, job location, etc. These sessions are called Pre Placement Talks. Pre Placement Talks help students to decide and apply for the discussed job roles.

• Library- The library of IIM Shillong is fully automated and has an avid collection of reference books, general books, textbooks, working papers, and other documents. The non-book collection section has a compact disc, video cassettes, etc. It is also equipped with relevant and requisite e-resources such as ebooks, databases, and e-journals.
• The canteen/Cafeteria of IIM Shillong serves four meals a day, a variety of seasonal fruits, a variety of sweet dishes, and cuisines to suit the diverse palette of its students. Food is also available during the night for the students.
• Hostel- Accommodation for both boys and girls with single and double occupancy rooms within the campus is available. Hostels are connected to a fast Wireless Mesh Network (WMN). The hostel offers 24-hour internet access, fully automatic washing machines, a hairdresser, a music room, a student library, a television, and recreational facilities. The rooms of IIM Shillong are adequate in size and storage capacity, and the hostel also offers washing and ironing services. Visitors will have access to an intercom system as well as guest rooms. Students have access to facilities such as a badminton court, basketball court, and cricket ground.
