    c. convey or grant (an estate) by will or lease. [Verb]
  • Synonyms: death, end, expiration, extinction
  • Antonyms: survival, birth, beginning
  • Usage in a sentence: The demise of the industry has caused untold misery to thousands of hard-working tradesmen.

 

3. Word: Referendum (जनमत-संग्रह)

  • Pronunciation: ref-uh-ren-duh m/ रेफरेन्डम
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning: a general vote by the electorate on a single political question which has been referred to them for a direct decision.
  • Synonyms: plebiscite, popular vote, ballot, poll
  • Usage in a Sentence: The issue was decided by referendum. 

4. WordRecalibrate (दुबारा जांचना)

  • Pronunciation: re-kal-uh-breyt/ रीकैलब्रैट
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning: calibrate (something) again or differently.
    Calibrate: to determine, check, or rectify the graduation of (any instrument)/ to determine the correct range for (an artillery etc.) by observing where the fired projectile hits.
  • Synonyms: reevaluate, redresss
  • Antonyms: disorganize, neglect
  • Use in a Sentence: Such contracts deprive insurers of the opportunity to recalibrate risks.

5. Word: Nurture (पालन-पोषण)

  • Pronunciationnur-cher/ नर्चर
  • Part of Speech: Verb, Noun
  • Meaning
    a. care for and protect (someone or something) while they are growing. [Verb]
    b. the action or process of nurturing someone or something. [Noun]
  • Synonyms: foster, nourish, cherish, nurse, raise, sustain
  • Antonyms: neglect, ignore, deprive, negligence
  • Usage in a Sentence: Teachers should nurture their students' creativity.

6. Word: Churn (मन्थन करना)

  • Pronunciation: churn/ चर्न
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning: 
    a. (with reference to liquid) move or cause to move about vigorously.
    b. break up the surface of (an area of ground).
  • Synonyms: shake, stir, swirl, agitate
  • Antonym: freeze

7. Word: Comorbidity (सहरुग्णता)

  • Meaning:
    a. the fact that people who have a disease or condition also have one or more other diseases or conditions
  • Synonyms: (of a disease) related, associated, coexisting
  • Antonyms: autonomous, detached, independent
  • Usage in a sentence: People with comorbidities have a weaker immune system due to fighting more than one disease at a time.

8. Word: Homologous (अनुकूल)

  • Pronunciation: हमालगस/huh-mol-uh-guhs
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning:
    a. having the same or a similar relation
    b. b. corresponding, as in relative position or structure
  • Synonyms: corresponding, equivalent, analogous
  • Antonyms: heterologous, different, diverse
  • Usage in a sentence: These activities are meant to be homologous to modern work conditions.

9. WordImmaterial (अभौतिक)

  • Pronunciation: im-uh-teer-ee-uh l/ इमटीरीअल
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning: unimportant under the circumstances; irrelevant
  • Synonyms: insignificant, unsubstantial, intangible, unimportant
  • Antonyms: important, material, relevant
  • Usage in a Sentence: The body is material but the soul is immaterial.

10. Word: Placebo (प्रयोगिक औषध)

  • Pronunciation: pluh-see-boh/प्लसीबो
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. a substance given to someone who is told that it is a particular medicine, either to make that person feel as if they are getting better or to compare the effect of the particular medicine when given to others
    b. something that is given to try to satisfy a person who has not been given the thing they really want
  • Synonyms: antidote, fixes, controlled trial
  • Antonyms: virus
  • Usage in a sentence: She was only given a placebo, but she claimed she got better - that's the placebo effect.
