  • Meaning: (especially of a court) concerned with or dealing with applications for decisions to be reversed.

  • Antonyms: illegal, discriminatory, captivated
  • Usage in Sentence: The appellate court affirmed the judgement of the lower court.

2. Word: Delegation (प्रत्यायोजन, प्रतिनिधि मंडल)

  • Pronunciation: del-i-gey-shuhn/ डेलगेशन
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. a body of delegates or representatives; a deputation.
    b. the action or process of delegating or being delegated.
  • Synonyms: deputation, commission mission, assignment
  • Antonyms: retention, discharge, acquisition
  • Usage in a sentence: He's been chosen to lead the delegation to the conference.

 

3. Word: Grievance (शिकायत)

  • Pronunciationgree-vuhns
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning: a wrong considered as grounds for complaint, or something believed to cause distress.
  • Synonyms: complaint, objection, grudge
  • Antonyms: compliment, praise, peace
  • Usage in a sentence: Despite the meeting, the main grievance remained unaddressed.

4. Word:  Aggrieved (पीड़ित)

  • Pronunciation: अग्रीव्ड/ag-grieved
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning - angry or resentful due to unjust treatment
  • Synonyms - resentful, distressed/disturbed, angry.
  • Antonyms - Pleased, Happy, satisfied
  • Usage in a sentence -  When the teacher accused the wrong student of throwing the piece of paper, the aggrieved student’s face grew red with anger.

5. Word: Disseminate (प्रसारित करना)

  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning:  spread (something, especially information) widely.
  • Pronunciation: dis-eminate/डिसेमनैट
  • Synonyms: spread, scatter, circulate, publicize.
  • Antonyms: conceal, hide, gather, collect
  • Usage in a Sentence: Cover your mouth while sneezing so that you do not disseminate bacteria.

6. Word: Dissent (असम्मत होनाअसम्मति)

  • Pronunciation: dih-sent/डिसेन्ट
  • Part of Speech: Verb, Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. hold or express opinions that are at variance with those commonly or officially held. [Verb]
    b. the holding or expression of opinions at variance with those commonly or officially held. [Noun]
  • Synonyms: conflict, disagree, protest
  • Antonyms: agree, assent, agreement
  • Usage in a sentence: Voices of dissent began to rise against the bombing.

7. Word: Leverage (लाभ उठाना)

  • Pronunciation: lev-er-ij/लीवरिज
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. power or ability to act or to influence people, events, decisions, etc.; sway
  • Synonyms: advantage, authority, supremacy
  • Antonyms: inferiority, poorness, weakness 
  • Usage in a Sentence: We'll have to use leverage to move this huge rock.

8. Word: Ironically (व्यंग्यपूर्वक)

  • Pronunciation: ahy-ron-i-kuhl-ee/ आइरानिक्ली
  • Part of Speech: Adverb
  • Meaning: used in reference to a paradoxical, unexpected, or coincidental situation.
  • Synonyms: wryly, paradoxically, sarcastically
  • Antonyms: actually, acutely
  • Usage in a sentence: She ended up doing commercials, which ironically revived her acting career.

9. Word: Regime (शासन)

  • Pronunciation: ruh-zheem
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning: 
    a. a government, especially an authoritarian one
    b. a system or ordered way of doing things.
  • Synonyms: administration, jurisdiction
  • Antonyms: disorder, confusion
  • Use in a Sentence: The regime got rid of most of its opponents.

10. Word: Disengagement (अवकाश)

  • Pronunciation: dis-en-geyj-muhnt /डिसिन्गैज्मन्ट 
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning: the fact of stopping being involved in something:
  • Synonyms: detachment, separation, pullout, disconnection
  • Antonyms: juxtaposition, association, engagement
  • Usage in a sentence: Social media is affecting a scary disengagement from reality.
