  • Antonyms: productive, useful, fruitful
  • Usage in a Sentence: Trying to please other people is largely a futile activity.

  • Pronunciation: am-bi-gyoo-i-tee/ ऐम्बग्यूइटी
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning: the quality of being open to more than one interpretation; inexactness.
  • Synonyms: vagueness, obscurity, uncertainty
  • Antonyms: certainty, clarity
  • Usage in a Sentence: There was an element of ambiguity in the president's reply.

4. Word: Harness (नियंत्रण में लाना)

  • Pronunciation: hahr-nis/हार्निस
  • Part of Speech: Verb, Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. a piece of equipment with straps and belts, used to control or hold in place a person, animal, or object (Noun)
    b. to control something, usually in order to use its power (Verb)
  • Synonyms: exploit, control, bridle 
  • Antonyms: loosen, disconnect
  • Usage in a sentence: There is a great deal of interest in harnessing wind and waves as new sources of power.

5. Word: Devious (कपटी)

  • Pronunciationdee-vee-uhs/ डीवीअस
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning
    a. showing a skilful use of underhand tactics to achieve goals.
    b. (of a route or journey) longer and less direct than the most straightforward way.
  • Synonyms: sly, tricky, crafty, cunning
  • Antonyms: direct, honest, frank, straightforward
  • Usage in a sentence
    a. He is nothing but a dishonest and devious politician.
    b. He took us by a devious route to the center of the city.

6. Word: Hue (विविध रंग/चिल्लाहट)

    a. (a degree of lightness, darkness, strength, etc. of) a colour
    b. a different type or group
    c. form or appearance
  • Synonyms: shade, tone, tint, tinge

7. Word: Nihilistic (शून्यवादी)

  • Pronunciation: nahy-uh-lis-tik/नाइलीस्टिक 
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning:
    a. rejecting all religious and moral principles in the belief that life is meaningless
  • Synonyms: anarchic, rebellious
  • Usage in a sentence: The rebels urged the people to grab hold of nihilism and remove all government officials from office.

8. Word: Indocrinate (राज़ी करना)

  • Pronunciationin-dok-truh-neyt/इन्डाक्ट्रनेट
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning:
    a. to convince people to believe a certain idea or concept/ teach (a person or group) to accept a set of beliefs uncritically
  • Synonyms: brainwash, propagandize, proselytize, inculcate, re-educate, persuade, convince, 
  • Antonyms: unlearn, dissuade, neglect
  • Usage in a sentence-A teacher's job is not to indoctrinate his students but rather to teach them how to discover their own knowledge.

9.  Word: Portend (संकेत)

  • Pronunciation: Por-tend/पोर्टेन्ड
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning:
    a. to indicate or give sign of a future occurrence
  • Synonyms: augur, foretell; indicate/signal
  • Antonyms:  Oblivious, promising
  • Usage in a sentence: In most cases, a lack of effort does portend failure.

  • Pronunciation: Am_pal/am-puhl
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning:  
    a. enough or more than enough; plentiful.
    b. large and accommodating.
  • Synonyms: large, abundant, plentiful, extensive, substantial
  • Antonyms: limited, insufficient, little, meager
  • Usage in a Sentence: The police found ample evidence of wrongdoing.
