  • Meaning:
    a. necessary for (someone) as a duty or responsibility. [Adjective]
    b. the holder of an office or post. [Noun]
  • Synonyms: necessary, tenured, compulsory, officeholder
  • Antonyms: optional, unnecessary
  • Usage in a sentence: It is incumbent upon all users of this equipment to familiarize themselves with the safety procedure.

  • Meaning
    a. to portend
    b. to be a sign of something that will happen in the future, usually something very good or bad
  • Synonyms: portend, foreshadow, augur, predict, foretell, forecast, presage
  • Usage in a sentence: This does not bode well for the future of the peace process.

4. Word: Patronage (प्रतिपालन,वृत्ति देने का अधिकार)

  • Pronunciation: pey-truh-nij/ पैट्रनज
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning
    a. the support given by a patron.
    b. the power to control appointments to office or the right to privileges.
    c. the regular custom attracted by a shop, restaurant, etc.
  • Synonyms: support, aegis, backing, protection
  • Antonyms: opposition, competition, antagonism, nonalignment
  • Usage in a Sentence: The college relied on the patronage of its wealthy graduates to expand its funds.

5. Word: Discourse (तर्क)

  • Pronunciation: dis-kohrs/ डिस्कोर्स
  • Part of Speech: Noun, Verb
  • Meaning:
    a. written or spoken communication or debate. [Noun]
    b. speak or write authoritatively about a topic. [Verb]
  • Synonyms: talk, lecture, speech, discussion
  • Antonyms: silence, quiet
  • Usage in a sentence: He was able to discourse at great length on the problems of education.

6. Word: Cognisant (अवगत)

  • Pronunciationkog-nuh-zuh nt/ काग्निज़न्ट
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning: having knowledge or awareness
  • Synonyms: aware, conscious, apprised, abreast, mindful
  • Antonyms: unaware, incognizant, dumbfounded, unconscious

7. Word: Facile (अनुकूल)

  • Pronunciation: fas-il/ फैसिल
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning:
    a. ignoring the true complexities of an issue; superficial.
    b. (especially of success in sport) easily achieved; effortless.
  • Synonyms: simplistic, oversimplified, schematic, smooth
  • Antonyms: complicated, difficult, harsh, ardous
  • Usage in a Sentence: The man's writing lacks depth for being facile.

8. Word: Wary (एहतियाती)

  • Pronunciation: wair-ee / वेरी
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning: feeling or showing caution about possible dangers or problems.
  • Synonyms: cautious, careful, vigilant
  • Antonyms: naive, reckless
  • Usage in a sentence: All authors need to be wary of inadvertent copying of other people's ideas.

9.  Word: Blueprint (मूल योजना)

  • Pronunciation: bloo-print/ब्लूप्रिन्ट

  • Meaning: a design plan or other technical drawing.
  • Synonyms: scheme, chart
