    a. the activity of helping the poor, especially by giving them money.
    b. altruistic concern for human welfare and advancement, usually manifested by donations of money, property, or work to needy persons, by endowment of institutions of learning and hospitals, and by generosity to other socially useful purposes.

  • Meaning:  
    a. enough or more than enough; plentiful.
    b. large and accommodating.

5. Word: Prominent (उन्नत)

  • Pronunciation: prom-uh-nuhnt/प्रामनन्ट

  • Meaning:
    a. very well known and important
    b. sticking out from a surface
  • Synonyms: eminent, famous, notable
  • Antonyms: unknown, invisible, unimportant

6. Word: Ire (क्रोध)

  • Pronunciation: ahyuhr/आइर
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. intense anger; wrath.
  • Synonyms: rage, fury, anger
  • Antonyms: calmness, happiness, pleasure
  • Usage in a sentence: Petty restrictions easily raised/aroused the ire of such a creative artist. 

7. Word: Close on the heels (अगला,निकटतम)

  • Meaning:
    a. following close behind someone or something
    b. happening soon after another event
  • Synonyms: Next to, near to, not far away, local, close
  • Usage in a sentence: Her second movie followed close on the heels of her successful film debut.

8. Word: Dissent (असम्मत होनाअसम्मति)

  • Pronunciation: dih-sent/डिसेन्ट
  • Part of Speech: Verb, Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. hold or express opinions that are at variance with those commonly or officially held. [Verb]
    b. the holding or expression of opinions at variance with those commonly or officially held. [Noun]
  • Synonyms: conflict, disagree, protest
  • Antonyms: agree, assent, agreement
  • Usage in a sentence: Voices of dissent began to rise against the bombing.

9.  Word: Hypocritical (छली/कपटी)

  • Pronunciation: hip-uh-krit-i-kuhl/हिपक्रिटिकल
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning:
    a. of the nature of hypocrisy, or pretense of having virtues, beliefs, principles, etc., that one does not actually possess:
  • Synonyms: insincere, false, deceitful
