3. Word: Sprint (कम दूरी की तेज दौड़ लगाना)

  • Pronunciation: s-print/स्प्रिन्ट
  • Part of Speech: Verb, Noun
  • Meaning
    a. to race or move at full speed, especially for a short distance, as in running, rowing, etc. (Verb)
    b. to traverse in sprinting(Verb)
    c. a short race at full speed. (Noun)
    d. a burst of speed at any point during a long race, as near the finish line. (Noun)
    e. a brief spell of great activity(Noun)

  • Usage in a sentence: The doctor's stance on the issue of abortion is well known.

5. Word: Spur (प्रेरित करना)

  • Pronunciation: spur/ स्पर
  • Part of Speech: Noun, Verb
  • Meaning: 
    a. a thing that prompts or encourages someone; an incentive. [Noun]
    b. give an incentive or encouragement to (someone). [Verb]
  • Synonyms: urge, encourage, motivate
  • Antonyms: discourage, hindrance, obstacle
  • Usage in a Sentence: On the spur of the moment, we all decided to hold a dance party.

    a. fighting between armed forces. [Noun]
    b. take action to reduce or prevent (something bad or undesirable). [Verb]

  • Usage in a sentence: The police are planning sterner measures to combat the rising number of crime.

  • Meaning: angry or bitter disagreement over fundamental issues; conflict.

  • Antonyms: peace, harmony, agreement
  • Usage in a sentence: They blamed the republic's nationalistic coalition government for the slide into civil strife.

9.  Word: Cohort (संगी)

  • Pronunciation: koh-hawrt/कोहॉर्ट
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. a companion or associate
    b. one of the ten divisions in an ancient Roman legion, numbering from 300 to 600 soldiers
    c. any group of soldiers or warriors
    d. an accomplice; abettor

10. Word: Angst (चिंता)

  • Meaning: a feeling of deep anxiety or dread, typically an unfocused one about the human condition or the state of the world in general
  • Synonyms: anxiety, anguish, fear, distress, dread
  • Antonyms: comfort, calmness, assurance, serenity
