2. Word: Allure (आकर्षण, मोहना)

  • Part of Speech: Noun, Verb
  • Meaning:
    (a) the quality of being powerfully and mysteriously attractive or fascinating (आकर्षण) (noun)
    (b) powerfully attract or charm; tempt (verb)
  • Pronunciation: अल- ल्योर (al-lure)
  • Synonyms: Attract, Charm
  • Antonyms: Repel
  • Use in Sentence:
    (a) Materialistic gifts hold no allure for her. (Noun)
    (b) The promotion and salary offered by the company greatly allured her. (verb)

3. Word: Quadrennial (क्वाड्रेनीअल)

  • Pronunciation: kwo-dren-ee-uhl/ चौवर्सी 
  • Part of Speech:

    a. occurring every four years:
    b. of or lasting for four years:
  • Synonyms: leap year, anniversary
  • Usage in a sentence: The Olympic Games is a quadrennial gathering of athletes from around the world.

4. Word: Diligence (कर्मठता)

  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning: careful and persistent work or effort.
  • Pronunciation: डिलजन्स / डिलिजन्स / डिलिजन्स
  • Synonyms: perseverance, patience, determination
  • Antonyms: inactivity, neglect, lethargy
  • Use in a Sentence: We need a diligence check of the results to improve the situation.

5. Word: Disparate (भिन्न)

  • Pronunciation: dis-per-it/डिस्पेरिट
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning:
    a. distinct in kind; essentially different; dissimilar
  • Synonyms: diverse, different, dissimilar
  • Antonyms: similar, alike, same 
  • Usage in a sentence: The two cultures were so utterly disparate that she found it hard to adapt from one to the other.

6. Word: Encore (पुनरावृत्ति की माँग)

  • Pronunciation: ahng-kawr/आन्कॉर
  • Part of Speech: Interjection, Noun, Verb
  • Meaning:
    a. again; once more (used by an audience in calling for an additional number or piece) (Interjection)
    b. a demand, as by applause, for a repetition of a song, act, etc., or for a performance of a number or piece additional to those on a program, or for a reappearance by the performers, as at the end of a concert, recital, etc. (Noun)
    c. any repeated or additional performance or appearance, as a rerun of a telecast or a rematch in sports. (Noun)
    d. to call for a repetition of (Verb)
  • Synonyms: repeat, callback, recall
  • Antonyms: jeer
  • Usage in a sentence: Jay Z caved and gave the audience an encore.

7. Word: Fragility (कोमलता)

  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. the quality of being easily broken or damaged.
    b. the quality of being delicate or vulnerable.
  • Pronunciation: fraj-ili-ity/फ्रजिलिटी
  • Synonyms: infirmity, feebleness
  • Antonyms: harshness, resilience
  • Use in a Sentence: There was an air of fragility about him.

8. Word: Effusive (असंयत)

  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Pronunciation: eff-u-civ
  • Meaning : showing or expressing gratitude, pleasure, or approval in an unrestrained or heartfelt manner/expressing a lot of emotion
  • Synonyms : gushing, gushy, unrestrained, unreserved, extravagant, fulsome
  • Antonyms : restrained,moderate,sober
  • Use in a Sentence: The boy was effusive in his praise of the judges who awarded him the trophy.

9. Word: Derail (अवपथन)

  • Pronunciation: dee-reyl/डीरेल
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning: obstruct (a process) by diverting it from its intended course.
  • Synonyms: dissuade, divert
  • Antonyms: assist, encourage, improve
  • Usage in a Sentence: That incident could derail the entire process.
