  • Meaning: continue to have (something); keep possession of.
  • Synonyms: keep, hold, preserve
  • Antonyms: abandon, release
  • Usage in a sentence: The union needs to retain the allegiance of all its members for the strike to succeed.

3. Word: Exhort (प्रोत्साहित करना)

  • Pronunciation: ig-zawrt/इग्ज़ॉर्ट
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning: strongly encourage or urge (someone) to do something.
  • Synonyms: advise, encourage, prompt, inspire
  • Antonyms: deter, discourage, inhibit
  • Usage in a Sentence: The manager must exhort his team members to work well.

4.  Word: Arbitrary (मनमाना) 

  • Part of Speech : Adjective
  • Meaning : based on random choice or personal whim, rather than any reason or system or (of power or a ruling body) unrestrained and autocratic in the use of authority.
  • Synonyms : random, erratic
  • Antonyms : logical, regular
  • Usage in a Sentence : The rules seemed arbitrary and inflexible.

5. Word: Anomaly (विसंगतियों)

  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Pronunciation: əˈnɒm.ə.liz/अनोमली
  • Meaning: something that deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected.
  • Synonyms: irregularity, inconsistency, deviation
  • Antonyms: normalities, standard, regularity
  • Use in a Sentence: There are many kinds of anomalies in the world. 

6. Word: Antiquated (पुराना)

  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Pronunciation: æntɪkweɪtɪd/ऐन्टिक्वेइटिड्
  • Meaning : old-fashioned or unsuitable for modern society.
  • Synonyms : prehistoric, vintage
  • Antonyms : recent, present
  • Use in a Sentence: The antiquated electrical system is not equipped to handle all of these modern appliances.

7. Word: Autonomy (स्वायत्तता)

  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Pronunciation: ɔːˈtɒnəmi/ऑˈटॉनमी
  • Meaning : freedom from external control or influence
  • Synonyms : Independence, Sovereignty
  • Antonyms : Dependence
  • Use in a Sentence: My College has autonomy to conduct it's own exams.

8. Word: Cherry-pick (पैंतरेबाज़ी)

  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Pronunciation: Chery-pik/चेरी-पिक्
  • Meaning : to choose only the best or most suitable from a group of people or things.
  • Synonyms : Opt, prefer, elect
  • Antonyms : decline, refuse, reject, turn down
  • Use in a Sentence: They cherry-picked the most promising potential customers and concentrated their efforts on them.

9. Word: Antediluvian (प्रलयपूर्व)

  • Pronunciation: an-tee-di-loo-vee-uhn/ ऐन्टीडिलूवीअन
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning:
    a. of or belonging to the period before the Flood. 
    b. very old, old-fashioned, or out of date; antiquated; primitive:
  • Synonyms: ancient, antiquated, archaic 
  • Antonyms: new, modern, contemporary
  • Usage in a sentence: The world has moved away from the antediluvian ideas of child marriage. 

10. Word: Inconsistency (बेजोड़ता)

  • Pronunciation: Noun
  • Part of Speech:  In-kənˈsɪstənt/इन-कनˈसिस्टन्ट्
  • Meaning : the fact or state of being inconsistent 
  • Synonyms : deviation, divergence
  • Antonyms : accord, agreement
  • Usage in a sentence: The program has found an inconsistency in the database files.
