- Indian Navy Day is being observed every year on December 4 to celebrate the achievements of naval force
- Theme 2020: Indian Navy Combat Ready, Credible & Cohesive.
- The day recognises the launch of Operation Trident during Indo-Pakistan war in 1971. In this, Indian Navy sank 4 Pakistani vessels and killed over 500 Pakistani Navy personnel at Pakistan Naval Headquarters

3. RBI temporarily bars HDFC Bank from new digital launches
- RBI has advised HDFC Bank to temporarily banned new digital business activities launch planned under HDFC Digital 2.0 program.
- Along with this, RBI has banned the issuance of new credit cards to customers in HDFC
- The move is taken due to repeated outages in HDFC bank’s internet banking/ mobile banking/ payment utilities over the last 2 years
- In the meanwhile, RBI has ordered HDFC Bank’s Board to examines the lapses and fixes accountability

4. Ninth edition of International Sand Art Festival 2020 begins in Odisha
- Ninth edition of International Sand Art Festival (ISAF) and 31st edition of Konark Festival has began in Odisha and will conducted from 1 to 5 Dec 2020

- Chief Curator of festival: Sudarsan Pattnaik
- It is a part of Konark Dance Festival and provide platform for sand artists to showcase their talent.

5. India sings MoU with USA for Intellectual Property Cooperation
- India has signed MoU with USA in the field of Intellectual Property Cooperation
- The MoU was signed by Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry and US Patent and Trademark Office, Department of Commerce of US.
- As a part of this MoU, the two side will develop Biennial Work Plan to implement the MoU which will include the detailed planning for carrying out of the co-operation activities including the scope of action

7. Athlete-turned actor Rafer Johnson passes away
- American decathlete and film actor, Rafer Lewis Johnson (86 years) passed away in California after suffering a stroke.
- Achievements:
- 1960 Olympic gold medalist in the decathlon
- Gold in 1955 Pan American Games.
- USA team's flag bearer at 1960 Olympics and lit Olympic cauldron at Los Angeles Games in 1984.
- After he retired from athletics, he turned to acting. His films include
- James Bond film Licence to Kill in 1989.

- Chairperson of HCL Technologies, Roshni Nadar Malhotra has topped the list of wealthiest women in India, released in 2nd edition of ‘Kotak Wealth Hurun–Leading Wealthy Women’ report.

- Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw of Biocon (wealthiest self-made woman on the list) bagged the second position, followed by Leena Gandhi Tewari of USV in the list

9. Pizza Hut co-founder Frank Carney passes away
- American entrepreneur and Pizza Hut co-founder Frank Carney (82 years) passed away from pneumonia
- He along with his brother Dan, started Pizza Hut empire in the US city of Wichita
- He recently recovered from Covid-19, but was having Alzheimer’s disease for more than a decade.
- He became Papa John's Pizza franchisee in 1990s and compete against his former business associates in Wichita market.

- Ministry of AYUSH is all set to develop Nisarg Gram campus at Pune as the 21st Century abode of Naturopathy.
- It will invoke recollections of Mahatma Gandhi’s famous Nature Cure campaign of 1946 at Nisarg Upchar Ashram in Uruli Kanchan village near Pune at upcoming new campus of National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN), Pune
- It is located 15 Km from National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN), Pune

11. Former French President Valery Giscard d’Estaing passes away
- Former President of France, Valery Giscard d’Estaing (94 years) passed away due to COVID-19 infection in Paris
- He was a French politician who served as President of France from 1974 to 1981
- He supported European integration and worked with Germany’s former chancellor Helmut Schmidt to create European Monetary System (EMS) in 1979, that later gave birth to the euro, Europe’s single common currency
- He wrote novel titled as The Princess and the President in 2009.

- Govt has launched AI & Robotics Technologies Park (ARTPARK) in Bengaluru to promote technology innovations in AI (Artificial Intelligence) & Robotics leading to societal impact
- It is a unique not-for-profit foundation established by Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru with support from AI Foundry in a public-private model.
- It will develop DataSetu, that will enable confidentiality and privacy-preserving framework to share data and run analytics
