- In Badminton, the Indian duo of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy have won the men's doubles final of the French Open 2022 in Paris.
- The Indian duo has defeated Chinese Taipei’s Lu Ching Yao and Yang Po Han in finals.

2. Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva elected new president of Brazil
- Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (76) has been elected as new president of Brazil after defeating incumbent president, Jair Bolsonaro.
- He has secured 50.83% of the votes, whereas his opponent, Bolsonaro got 49.17% votes.
- He was served as the president of Brazil for two terms from 2003 to 2006 and then 2007 to 2011.
- India has had excellent relations with Brazil under his government.
- He visited India as the Chief Guest at the Republic Day parade in 2004, 2007 and 2008.

3. India wins Sultan of Johor Cup 2022 in Malaysia
- Indian Under 21 men’s hockey team has won the 10th edition of Sultan of Johor Cup title, after defeating Australia in 2022 final, held in Johor Bahru, Malaysia from 22 to 29 October 2022.
- Earlier, India has won two titles in 2013 and 2014.
- The top-scorer of tournament was Sharda Nand Tiwari from India, with seven goals to his name.

- Sultan of Johor Cup was started in 2011.

4. Indian Navy joins trilateral exercise with Mozambique, Tanzania
- India has participated in the first edition of India-Mozambique-Tanzania Trilateral Exercise (IMT TRILAT) commenced at Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania on 27 October.
- Indian Navy has represented the guided missile frigate, INS Tarkash, a Chetak helicopter and MARCOS (Special Forces).
- Objectives: (1) Capability development to address common threats through training and sharing of best practices, (2) Enhancing interoperability, and strengthening maritime cooperation

5. Govt appoints IFS Rajesh Ranjan as next Indian envoy to Ivory Coast
- Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, Dr. Rajesh Ranjan has been appointed as the next Indian Ambassador to the West African nation of Cote d'Ivoire.
- Presently, he is serving as the High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Botswana.
- Prior to this, he has served in the Indian Embassy in Moscow as Second/Third Secretary dealing with Political and Commercial issues.
- He is expected to take up the assignment shortly.

6. Sebi extends deadline for rules on direct ETF transactions
- SEBI has extended the deadline for implementation of the Rs 25 crore-threshold rule for direct ETF transactions with asset management companies to May 1, 2023.
- This is the second time the Securities and Exchange Board of India.
- Rule: To enhance liquidity in units of ETFs in stock exchange platforms, direct transactions with AMCs will be facilitated for investors only when the transaction amount is greater than Rs 25 crore.

8. BSE Technologies to launch of KYC Registration Agency
- BSE Technologies (subsidiary of BSE) has launched of KYC Registration Agency (KRA), which maintains KYC records of investors in an electronic form.
- KRA is a Sebi-regulated intermediary that grants the market participants authorisation for investors' Know Your Client (KYC).
- KRAs need to independently validate records of those clients (existing as well as new) whose KYC has been completed using Aadhaar as an Officially Valid Document (OVD).

10. Meghalaya signs MoU with Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for MSME borrowers
- The Meghalaya government has signed an MoU with the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGFTMSE), under the Ministry of MSME, to help facilitate flow of credit to MSME borrowers.
- Aim: To implement the Meghalaya Credit Guarantee Scheme
- Presently, the loans taken by MSME borrowers are covered under CGTMSE against a risk coverage of 75% of the loan amount under various MSME schemes.
