1. President of India inaugurates National Women Legislators Conference-2022
- President of India, Ram Nath Kovind has inaugurated two-day National Women Legislators’ Conference-2022 in Thiruvananthapuram
- It is being hosted by Kerala Legislative Assembly as a part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
- It was attended by 120 delegates from different states across India.
- During the conference, Kerala higher education minister R Bindu moved a resolution to make 33% reservation for women in legislative bodies.

2. Justice Pradip Kumar Mohanty appointed as acting Chairperson of Lokpal
- Justice Pradip Kumar Mohanty has been appointed as the acting Chairperson of Lokpal by President Ram Nath Kovind, after Pinaki Chandra Ghose completed his tenure as the Lokpal Chief.
- His tenure is effective from 28th May, till the appointment of new Chairperson.
- Lokpal:
- Anti-corruption authority or ombudsman body who represents public interest in India
- It consists of Chairperson and 8 members with 5 years tenure
- First Chairperson of Lokpal: Pinaki Chandra Ghose

3. PM inaugurates World's first Nano Urea (Liquid) Plant in Gujarat
- PM Modi has inaugurated World's first Nano Urea (Liquid) Plant constructed at Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Ltd (IFFCO) at Kalol, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
- Nano Urea Liquid Plant has been built at the cost of around Rs 175 crore to boost productivity and increase farmers income.
- It will produce about 1.5 lakh bottles of 500 ml.
- IFFCO Nano Urea is the only Nano fertilizer approved by Government and included in the Fertilizer Control Order (FCO).

- Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog has organized 'National Outreach Meet' for 2nd edition of Atal New India Challenge (ANIC) at International Centre Goa

- ANIC: Flagship program of AIM to seek, select, support and nurture technology-based innovations that solve sectoral challenges of national importance and societal relevance.

5. Union Minister inaugurates North India’s First Biotech Park at Kathua, J&K
- Union Minister Jitendra Singh has inaugurated North India’s first Industrial Biotech Park at Ghatti, Kathua, Jammu.
- Biotech Park will act as hub for incubation of new ideas and will act as a robust platform to support Agri-entrepreneurs, Startups, farmers, scholars, and students.
- It has a potential to produce 25 startups in a year which will be among its great contributions to this region.
- Biotech Parks of J&K are among 9 Biotechnology Parks supported by DBT.

6. Union Minister inaugurates Khashaba Jadhav Sports Complex, Pune University
- Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Thakur has inaugurated Khashaba Jadhav Sports Complex of the Pune University.
- The complex is spread over 27-acre land and it has synthetic athletic track, football, Astro turf lawn tennis court, international standard shooting range, state of art gymnasium.
- It also includes outdoor sports facilities like kho-kho, kabaddi, corf ball and multipurpose indoor hall like badminton, basketball, volleyball, hand ball, etc.

7. RBI red-flagged NBFCs for systemic risks due to size and interconnectedness
- RBI has red-flagged non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) in its annual report, observing that balance sheets of shadow banks expanded even as the asset quality deteriorated.
- Some of NBFCs pose potential threat to financial stability as their size increased due to higher risk appetite
- Shadow banking: bank-like activities that take place outside traditional banking sector
- It is commonly referred to as non-bank financial intermediation or market-based finance.

8. Union Minister launched Indian Business Portal in New Delhi
- Union Minister, Anupriya Patel has launched Indian Business Portal in New Delhi to serve as an international trade hub for Indian exporters and foreign buyers.
- Developed by: Federation of Indian Export Organizations
- It is a business-to-business digital/ e-commerce marketplace to empower small medium enterprises exporters, artisans and farmers to identify new markets for their products and grow their sales globally and to help Indian exporters get global visibility.

9. Uttarakhand govt forms panel for Uniform Civil Code implementation
- Uttarakhand govt has announced to form 5-member drafting committee to implement the much-debated Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state
- Head of the committee: Ranjana Desai (retired Supreme Court judge)
- Members: Delhi High Court judge Pramod Kohli, ex-state chief secretaries Shatrughan Singh, Manu Gaud and Surekha Dangwal
- UCC: Common set of laws governing personal matters like marriage, divorce, inheritance and succession for all citizens, irrespective of religion, etc

10. RBI’s Banknote Survey revealed that ₹100 banknote was the most preferred
- RBI’s Banknote Survey of Consumers findings has revealed that ₹100 was the most preferred banknote while ₹2,000 was the least preferred denomination.
- Among coins, ₹5 denomination was the most preferred whereas ₹1 was the least preferred.
- Watermark of Mahatma Gandhi’s image followed by windowed security thread was the most recognized security feature as per the survey
- Survey took the sample of 11,000 respondents from rural, semi-urban, urban and metropolitan areas
