ISRO's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) has successfully injected Earth observation satellite 'Oceansat' into a sun-synchronous orbit, from Satish Dhawan Space Centre on 26th November 2022.
The Earth Observation Satellite or the Oceansat successfully separated from the rocket and was placed into orbit.
The Earth Observation Satellite-6 is the third-generation satellite in the Oceansat series.

As per the US based consulting firm, 'Morning Consult', PM Modi remains the world’s most popular leader with an approval rating of 77%.
Andrés Manuel López Obrador (Mexico President) stands at second position followed by Anthony Albanese (Australian PM)
While, the US President Joe Biden is placed at 9th position followed by Rishi Sunak (UK Prime Minister) among the 22 world leaders.
The latest ratings are based on data collected from 16th to 22nd November.

Banking & Finance

The central government has released ₹17,000 crore to states and UTs towards the balance Goods and Services Tax compensation for the April-June 2022 period.
The total amount of compensation released to states and UTs so far this fiscal is ₹1.15 trillion (including the latest tranche).
This is despite the fact that total GST cess collection till October 2022 was only ₹72,147 crore.
And, the balance of ₹43,515 crore is being released by the Centre from its own resources.

Udaipur is ready to host the first G20 Sherpa Meeting in India from 4 to 7 December 2022.
Aim: To foster growth and build bonds amongst the twenty nations.
The G20 Sherpa meeting is expected to be held at the Darbar Hall at the City Palace Udaipur.
The Sherpa Meeting of the G20 Summit is a preliminary meeting of the government representatives before the main G20 Summit.
The former CEO of NITI Aayog, Amitabh Kant is the G20 Sherpa from India.

Honours & Awards

Film ‘Dear Diary’ made by Team Purple, has won the 53-Hour Challenge for '75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow’ in best movie category, at International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
The competition was launched by Union Information & Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur.
During 53 hour deadline, 5 short films were made.
From the shoot, to the final film delivery, the filmmakers worked non-stop, to bring their scripts to life.

Obituaries

Veteran actor, Vikram Gokhale has been passed away at the age of 77 in Pune due to deteriorated health.
Vikram Gokhale was made his film debut in 1971 with Amitabh Bachchan's Parwana.
He was known for his on-screen roles in films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.
In 2010, he received the National Award for Best Actor for his work in the Marathi film Anumati.
He also forayed into direction with the Marathi film Aaghaat.
The actor was last seen in the Marathi film 'Godavari.

National Affairs

Nitin Gadkari (Minister for Road Transport and Highways) has approved the 4-Laning of Bhiwani-Hansi road section of NH-148B under Bharatmala Pariyojana in Bhiwani and Hisar districts on HAM in the state of Haryana with a budget of Rs.1322.13 Crore.
The project would provide fast movement & good inter-district connectivity in Haryana.
It would also improve the overall efficiency of the long route traffic and freight movement that would ensure smooth traffic flow.

Fisheries, Animal Husbandry Ministry has awarded National Gopal Ratna Awards 2022 on 26th November (National Milk Day)
Award Categories: Best Dairy Farmer Rearing Indigenous Cattle and buffalo Breeds, Best Artificial Insemination Technician and Best Dairy Cooperative, Milk Producer Company, Dairy Farmer Producer Organization
Award: Rs 5 lakh (1st), Rs 3 lakh (2nd) and Rs 2 lakh (3rd)
It is one of the highest National Awards in the field of livestock and dairy sector.

National Affairs

The Indian Railways has planned to introduce ‘tilting trains’ by 2026 with an aim to maintain higher speed on curvy stretches.
According to the officials, 100 new units of the semi-high speed Vande Bharat trains are being manufactured using this technology.
Tilting trains: Mechanism enables higher speed on regular broad-gauge tracks, which tilt while undergoing a curve on the track.
Such locomotives operate in the UK, Italy, Portugal, Slovenia, Finland, Russia.
