1. Air Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari appointed as new IAF Vice Chief
- Air Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari has been appointed as the new Vice Chief of the Indian Air Force.
- He will succeed Air Marshal Harjit Singh Arora.
- He is currently serving as commander-in-chief of the IAF's Western Air Command (WAC).
- An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Air Marshal Chaudhari was commissioned into the fighter stream of the IAF on December 29, 1982.
- Air Marshal Arora retired from service in June 2021.

- India ranked 20th among the 100 countries in the Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2021 by Startup Blink.

- Like last year, the US, the UK, Israel, Canada, and Germany are in the top five spots.
- The report has a score for each location, which is calculated as the sum of three parameters — quantity, quality, and business environment.

5. Reliance inks pact with ADNOC to build mega chemical project in Abu Dhabi
- RIL and UAE's oil giant Abu Dhabi National Oil Company signed an agreement to form a mega petrochemical joint venture in Al Ruwais city.
- This will be the first investment by Reliance in UAE.
- RIL and ADNOC will construct an integrated plant with a capacity to produce chlor-alkali, ethylene dichloride, and polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
- The partnership utilizes the increasing demand for critical industrial raw materials and utilizes the strengths of ADNOC and RIL.

6. Singapore signs pact with Bhutan to establish technical training centres
- Singapore has signed an MoU with Bhutan to establish Model Technical Training Centres (MTTC).
- The ITE-Education Services of Singapore will provide technical assistance to Bhutan’s Ministry of Labour and Human Resources in developing MTTC.
- MTTCs will offer high-quality practice-oriented skills training for Bhutanese youths.
- The King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck visited the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), Singapore, in 2015.

- National Doctors’ Day is celebrated every year on 1st July to acknowledge the role of doctors in keeping the nation healthy.
- The government established Doctors’ Day in 1991 to recognize the contributions of former Bengal Chief Minister Dr BC Roy.
- He played an important role in the establishment of the Medical Council of India and the Indian Medical Association.
- He was also conferred with Bharat Ratna on 4th February 1961.

- He scored his third GM norm in Budapest, having already crossed the required 2500 ELO rating barrier.
- He defeated 15-year-old Indian GM Leon Luke Mendonca.

10. Sampath Kumar, editor of India's only Sanskrit daily passes away
- K V Sampath Kumar, the editor of India’s only Sanskrit daily Sudharma for the past 31 years, passed away.
- Sudharma was founded by his father Kalale Nadadur Varadaraja Iyengar, a renowned Sanskrit scholar from Mysuru.
- After his death in 1990, Sampath Kumar and his wife Vidushi Jayalakshmi KS took over.
- He, along with his wife, was selected for the Padma Shri honor from the Government of India in 2020 for his contribution to the field of Literature & Education.

11. Renowned personality Raj Kaushal passed away
- Filmmaker Raj Kaushal passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest.
- He is survived by his wife Mandira Bedi and children Veer and Tara.
- He directed movies like “Shaadi Ka Laddoo” and “Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi”.
- Apart from direction, Kaushal had also produced filmmaker Onir’s 2005 acclaimed drama “My Brother… Nikhil”, starring Sanjay Suri and Juhi Chawla.
- His last directorial was the 2006 thriller, “Anthony Kaun Hai?.
