IBPS Clerk Prelims Preparation 2019

The exam has a total of 3 sections, and we have already shared the IBPS Clerk exam pattern and syllabus for your understanding of the upcoming exam. Let us have a quick look at these sections first. 

1. Numerical Ability: It has total 35 questions of total 35 marks.

2. Reasoning Section: It also has total 35 questions of total 35 marks.

3. English Language: It has total 30 questions of total 30 marks.

  • It is a total 100 marks paper of total 100 questions. It also has a negative marking of 1/4th of a mark for each wrong attempt.
  • You should always be aware of the pattern of the examination, IBPS Clerk prelims cut off of the previous year and most importantly the speed and accuracy in the exam. You must work hard for the exam in order to score well.
  • There will be sectional timing of 20 minutes in each section. 

How to crack IBPS Clerk Prelims 2019

  • Keep yourself updated
    To appear for the IBPS Clerk exam you must be updated with all the fields. Do not just read all things. You must practice them by improving your reading, writing, listening and speaking skill. 
  • Cover all topics
    You must cover all topics and give equal time to prepare all sections. You should not leave any stone unturned. As per the IBPS Clerk prelims syllabus, every topic should be covered and practiced well.
  • Frame a time management
    Try and practice questions and topics as per the time frame. If you do so it will help you in finishing your exam well within time and without any delays. Practice will boost the accuracy of answers with speed.
  • Practice well
    Try and practice as much as you can. Take regular IBPS Clerk Test, to see where you stand. Never forget the golden rule of practice i.e. “Practice makes the man perfect”. Refer different content and study material for practice, solve IBPS Clerk mock test and make sure you practice each topic well.
  • Create Notes
    While studying any topic always make sure that you create notes so that at the time of revision you can directly refer the key points created by you rather than just going through the whole syllabus again and investing time in it. It is better to invest time in the conceptual notes that you have created and practice accordingly.
  • Follow the procedure
    Always study according to the set procedure. At a time focus only on one topic rather than picking 2-3 topics together.

How to Prepare Numerical Ability for IBPS Clerk Prelims 2019

  • Quantitative aptitude is the toughest part and you need to have hands-on practice to clear the same. Start with Quantitative Aptitude Quiz
  • It is conducted to test your mental ability and how your calculations and basics are as per your school studies.
  • You should be well versed with the calculations and tricks to solve the questions.
  • Few important topics are like Data Interpretation, Quadratic Equation, Number Series, Data Sufficiency, Simplification/Approximation, Mensuration, Profit and Loss, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Time and work, Mixture problems, Quadratic equation, Pie Chart, Mixed Graph, Line Graph, Bar Graph, Probability, etc.
  • Just plan your schedule accordingly so that you can cover all topics. 
  • If you are weak or average in this section then you should practice questions on daily basis.
  • Daily analyze your mistakes and try to seek help from the topics you are weak in.
  • Practice those topics again with a different approach.
  • Solve those questions first in which you feel you are strong in so as to boost your solving skills.

How to Prepare Reasoning for IBPS Clerk Prelims 2019

  • Reasoning is one the scoring section in the exams if you practice it well.
  • The problems in reasoning section need proper practice so that it can be solved in the given time, otherwise, it is difficult to crack the same.

  • However, while going through the reasoning section there are few guidelines which need to be kept in mind.

  • In order to attempt this section of IBPS Clerk prelims, you must be good with your reading and writing skills. 
  • It contains questions based on different topics such as reading comprehension, vocabulary based questions, grammar based questions and verbal ability questions.
  • Topics of Parajumble, Sentence correction, cloze test are important for IBPS Clerk exam.
  • In reading comprehension, questions come based on the passage. You need to read the passage and answer the questions accordingly.
  • In grammar based questions, different topics like fill in the blanks, error sClerktting, sentence correction, sentence improvement etc. come based on grammar so you should be really good with grammatical concepts.
