EPFO SSA Age Relaxation

The exam conducting authority provides age relaxation for candidates of various categories. The upper age limit is relaxable for Government servants’ up to forty years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government.

After the aforementioned relaxations, an ex-serviceman may subtract the duration of their actual military service from their actual age, and if the resulting age does not exceed the maximum age limit for the position they are applying for by more than three years, they will be deemed to have met the EPFO SSA age limit. A candidate must be either:

1. A citizen of India, or
2. A subject of Nepal, or
3. A subject of Bhutan, or
4. A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
6. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

According to the EPFO SSA Eligibility Criteria 2023, the applicant must hold a degree from an institution that is approved by the government in any stream. Candidates must have an English typing speed of 35 words per minute or a Hindi typing speed of 30 words per minute.

• Applicants should be aware that all of the documentation needed to meet the eligibility requirements must be truthful. The original certificates for the same will need to be produced once the candidates have been shortlisted for the document verification stage.
• PwBD applicants who intend to apply for UR positions will only be given a relaxation in the upper age restriction for UR PwBD candidates.
• Candidates must make sure they enter their true birthdate in the online application form. It must match the birthdate provided on the Matriculation/ SSLC/ Xth Class or a comparable document.
• A candidate will receive the highest age relaxation for which they are qualified if they qualify for one or more age relaxations.
• If a single candidate submits numerous application forms, only the most recent application form submitted by that individual will be taken into consideration.
