EPFO SSA Exam Analysis 2022 - Difficulty Level, Good Attempts, Paper Review

EPFO SSA Mains exam includes 4 sections followed by a descriptive test. Total 150 questions were asked from all the 5 sections which are – Quantitative Aptitude, English, Reasoning/intelligence, and General/ Economy/ Financial Awareness for a composite duration of 120 minutes.

Along with this, 3 questions of descriptive nature were also asked for a total of 45 marks. Let's now have a look at the major highlights of EPFO SSA Mains exam.

• Overall Level of the exam:  Easy-Moderate
• Easiest section: English Language
• Most Difficult section: Quantitative Aptitude
• General Awareness: The level of this section was moderate
• Quantitative Aptitude: The section of quantitative aptitude was the most difficult, out of all the sections.
• English Language: This section was easy.
• Reasoning Ability: The section of Reasoning was in the range of easy-moderate.

The overall level of the Reasoning section was of moderate level. A total of 40 questions were asked from different topics which are as follows: -

Topic Details:

• Puzzles and Seating Arrangement: There were 4 puzzles including scheduling and seating arrangement.

i)Circular puzzle contained 5 question sets, where there were 10 persons facing inside.

ii) There was a puzzle based on schedule, where 9 designations were given. This puzzle had 5 questions.

iii) Another puzzle was floor-based, which involved 8 floors.

• Inequality: 5 questions of Inequality were asked.
• Numeric Series: Students found 5 questions from the topic of numeric Series.
• Syllogism: There were 5 questions of Syllogism based on only a few.
• Logical Reasoning: No questions of Logical Reasoning was asked.
• Data Sufficiency: There were 3 questions based on Data Sufficiency.

A total of 40 questions were asked in the General/Economy/Financial Awareness sections, the topic details of which are as follows: -

Level of the Section: Moderate

Topic Details: 

1. Majority of the questions were asked from Current Affairs of the last five months.
2. Few questions of static GK were asked.
3. 4-5 questions of Banking Awareness were found in the paper.
4. Questions on summits were also asked.

English language section was easy and attemptable by a maximum number of students who prepared well for the EPFO SSA mains exam. Below is the detailed analysis: -

Topic Details:

1. Reading Comprehension: Only one Reading Comprehensions were asked in the paper, based on the environment. Around 8-9 questions were asked from the passage.
2. Match the column: Around 4-5 questions were asked from this topic.
3. Sentence Rearrangement: The questions of Sentence rearrangement were easy. There were 5 questions from this topic, where option C was fixed.
4. Error Spotting: Surprisingly, there were no questions of Error Spotting.
5. Cloze Test: 4-5 questions of Cloze Test were asked.
6. Single Fillers: 3-4 questions of single fillers were seen in the paper, where there were one blank and 
7. Word usage: There were 3-4 questions of Word usage.

Level of the Section: Moderate

 Topic Details:

• Data Interpretation: There were 3 DI asked in the exam. The first DI was a double pie chart based on 'failed and passed candidates'. Another was a tabular DI from which 5 questions were asked. The third DI was caselet based.
• Number series: 5 questions were based on wrong number series.
• Miscellaneous Questions: 9-10 questions on Arithmetic topics were asked. 
• Approximation: There were 5 questions on Approximation, which were of easy level.

English Language test was of qualifying nature and the marks in the English Language will not be counted for the merit list.

• The total marks assigned for this section is 25 marks with a time limit of 30 minutes. 
• Minimum qualifying marks is 10.

The section was divided into two parts -

1. Letter Writing: Candidates has to write a letter in any one of the given topics (150 words)

(i) Write a letter to the Bank Manager reporting him about your stolen credit card.

(ii) Write a letter to your sister who is moving abroad to pursue her MBA.

(iii) You are the Am of your bank. Write a resignation letter as you are facing problems with your senior.

1. Precis Writing:  Candidates has to write a precis in 90 words based on the topic of ways to tackle inflation in the long run.
2. Comprehension:  There was a passage based on the theme of ' climate change ' and candidates had to answer 5 questions based on the passage in written form.
