CAIIB Exam or Certified Associate of India Institute of Bankers exam is conducted by the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (IIBF). CAIIB Exam is one of the premier banking exams conducted by the IIBF for career progression and to attain advanced knowledge for a banker. CAIIB Exam is conducted twice a year. CAIIB full form is Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers. CAIIB exam is conducted by IIBF; also known as the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance. It was founded in 1928. IIBF comprises more than 700 financial institutions. CAIIB is one of the most reputed exams of IIBF. To get benefits like increments, bonuses, and promotions candidates need to pass the CAIIB exam. There are a maximum of 4 attempts for candidates to qualify for the exam. In case of failure, candidates need to re-register to take the exam again. CAIIB exam can be only given by candidates already working in the banking sector.

In order to appear for the CAIIB Exam 2023, candidates will have to register for the exam on the said date. Candidates can appear for CAIIB 2023 exam either in June or December 2023 by registering on IIBF. Here are the important dates for CAIIB Exam 2023.

Candidates have to register themselves online to take the CAIIB Exam 2023. Here are the steps to register for CAIIB 2023 examination.

Step 1: Visit the official site of the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance, IIBF at www.iibf.org.in or the link that is provided above to register for the CAIIB Exam 2023.

Step 2: The homepage of IIBF will be displayed on the screen.

Step 3: Click on the ‘Examination/Courses’ option on the left side of the screen.

Step 4: Select the ‘Flagship Courses’ out of the options that are available.

Step 5: Select the CAIIB as the exam name so that you can proceed to the next step for registration for CAIIB Exam 2023.

Step 6: As you click on the link, select the ‘Apply Online' link.

Step 7: Fill in all the details such as personal details, educational qualifications, and work experience.

Step 8: Upload the documents required in the CAIIB 2023 Application form.

Step 9: Lastly, pay the required application fee for successful registration for the CAIIB Exam 2023.

Step 10: Take a printout of the CAIIB Application Form 2023 for further use.

According to the IIBF, the CAIIB eligibility criteria is as follows-

• Candidates should have completed the JAIIB or Part 1 of the associate examination.
• Candidate's membership should not be in arrears.
• Candidate must already be an employee under IIBF.

CAIIB Number of Attempts

The IIBF has prescribed the following number of attempts to appear for the CAIIB Exam.

• You can appear for the CAIIB Examination for four (4) consecutive attempts within a period of 2 years. 
• If you cannot pass in 4 consecutive attempts, then you will have to re-enroll yourselves afresh. 
• Candidates re-enrolling themselves will not be granted credit/s for subject/s passed, if any, earlier.

IIBF released the latest CAIIB exam pattern for the candidates who will be appearing for the CAIIB Examination 2023.

• All the papers for the CAIIB Exam will be conducted online.
• There are 5 papers for the CAIIB Exam 2023.
• The duration of the CAIIB Paper is 2 hours.
• You can take the CAIIB Exam in either English or Hindi.
• There are 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions.
• There is no negative marking in the CAIIB Exam 2023. Hence, it is advisable to attempt every question.

The IIBF has prescribed the following passing marks for the CAIIB Exam.

• The minimum passing mark in the subject is 50 out of 100 marks in the CAIIB Exam.
• If you secure at least 45 marks in each subject with an aggregate of 50% marks in all the subjects in a single attempt, even then you will be declared as having completed the examination.

Class of Pass for CAIIB Exam

IIFB has laid the passing class or division in the CAIIB Exam as per the marks scored by you in the CAIIB Exam 2023. The institute will consider the ‘first physical attempt’ as your first attempt to award you a class. If you re-enroll yourself for the CAIIB Exam, then you will not be considered for awarding class.

• First Class: If you score 60% or more than 60% marks in aggregate and pass in all the subjects on your first attempt.
• First Class with distinction: If you score more than 70% or more marks in aggregate and 60% or more marks in each subject in your first physical attempt.

• There are four compulsory papers for the CAIIB Exam that has to be attempted by each of the candidates.
• There are 5 elective papers in the CAIIB exam out of which you have to select any one of them.

The candidates who have registered themselves successfully for the CAIIB Exam 2023 will have to download the admit card to appear for the test as per the schedule. You must take a printout of the CAIIB Call Letter, Membership identity card, or any other valid photo ID card in original (Aadhaar card/ e-Aadhaar/ Employer's card/ PAN Card/ Driving License/ Election voter's card/ Passport, etc.) at the examination venue. Without the CAIIB Admit card and valid ID proof, you will not be allowed to take the CAIIIB 2023 Examination.

Step to download CAIIB Admit Card

Here are the steps to download the CAIIB admit card 2023.

• Step 1: Visit the official website of IIBF under the menu ‘Examination/Course>admit card”.
• Step 2: Enter your membership number or registration number as the login ID.
• Step 3: Click on ‘Edit profile password’.
• Step 4: Your admit card for CAIIB Exam will be downloaded.
• Step 5: Take a printout of the CAIIB Call letter.

How to retrieve CAIIB Password?

• If you do not remember your password for CAIIB 2023 exam, then click on the 'Forgot password/ Get Password' button after entering the Membership or Registration number.
• As you click on the submit button a fresh edit password will be sent to your registered email ID.
• From there, you can proceed further to retrieve your password for CAIIB 2023 exam.

After the completion of the exam, the institute releases the CAIIB result for the exam on its portal. You have to obtain the minimum qualifying marks in the exam in the aggregate which is 50 marks out of 100. Candidates can download their CAIIB result PDF by entering their membership number and password. After the 3 weeks of results declaration, a certificate will be shared with the qualified candidates.
