What is the Full Form of CSAT?

CSAT Full Form is Civil Services Aptitude Test. it is a part of the Civil Services Examination for Prelims which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). CSAT was introduced in 2011 to test the analytical skills, comprehension, interpersonal skills, decision-making & problem-solving, aptitude, and reasoning ability of UPSC aspirants.

Full Form of CSAT in UPSC

The CSAT Ful Form is Civil Services Aptitude Test, and it is also known as the General Studies-II in the UPSC Prelims exam. CSAT is the second paper of the UPSC Prelims. CSAT is a qualifying paper in the UPSC Prelims examination, and to qualify for this paper, candidates need to score at least 33% or 66 marks out of 200 marks. Those who fail to qualify for CSAT won’t be able to clear the UPSC Prelims exam. CSAT Syllabus includes-

  1. Comprehension
  2. Interpersonal skills, including communication skills
  3. Logical reasoning and analytical ability
  4. Decision-making and problem-solving
  5. General mental ability
  6. Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc. – Class X level)
