Who is the First Woman President of the Indian National Congress?

The First Woman President of the Indian National Congress was Annie Besant. She was a British citizen, a socialist, women’s rights activist, author, and politician who was made the first president of the INC in 1917. A strong supporter of the Indian self-government movement, she contributed to many social reforms in India, including co-founding the Banaras Hindu University.

She played a critical role in the Indian freedom struggle by actively participating in movements like Salt Satyagraha with other revolutionaries.
