The Gahora was the capital of Raja Veersingh Dev. The home base of Bundela Rajput leader Raja Veersingh Dev was Gahora. From 1605 until 1627, he was the ruler of Orchha and one of the most prominent kings. Raja Veersingh Dev Bundela ruled Orchha. In the History of the Bundela Dynasty, the time period of Raja Bundela is considered the Golden Period. It is said that the Bundela Architecture was at its peak when Raja Veer Singh was ruling Orchha.

Capital of Raja Veersingh Dev
The home base of Bundela Rajput leader Raja Vir Singh Dev was Gahora. From 1605 until 1627, he was the ruler of Orchha and one of the most prominent Bundela kings. He was an outstanding soldier and strong leader. Abul Fazl, the principal advisor to Akbar’s court and the writer of Akbar Nama, was killed by him. Orchha saw a golden age of architecture under Raja Veer Singh.
