The Tropic of Cancer does not pass through the state of Orissa. It passes through the middle part of the country and through eight different states that don’t include Orissa. The state of Orissa is not located along the Tropic of Cancer. It travels through the following eight Indian states that are Mizoram (Champhai), Tripura (Udaipur), Gujarat (Jasdan), Rajasthan (Kalinjarh), Uttar Pradesh (Shajapur), Jharkhand (Lohardaga), West Bengal (Sonhat), and Chhattisgarh (Krishnanagar). The Tropic of Cancer is the point where the sun is directly overhead. It is also referred to as the Northern Tropic.
