The farming plough is an example of labor which is the most abundant factor of production. The other two factors of production are land and physical capital. A factory, with many laborers and machines, is an example where all three factors of production land, labor, and fixed capital are used. The resources put together to generate services and products are known as the factors of production.

Farming Plough and its Factor of Production

Factors of production such as land, labor, physical capital, and human capital are responsible for every production. The establishment of machinery requires land, labor will do the work, and physical capital will enable us to buy items like tools, machines, etc.

  • Labor is the most abundant factor of production as people are migrating from one place to another in search of opportunities. People are now entering the non-agricultural sector in the village which is not a huge area.
  • Whatever materials are utilized in producing a commodity is referred to as input. For example, in wheat production, the inputs for a farmer are a tractor, soil, seeds, tools, manure, water, etc.

The inputs are categorized into two parts namely primary inputs and secondary inputs. The inputs that assist in rendering services only are primary inputs whereas the inputs that combine into the commodity for which they are used are secondary inputs.
