The monsoon arrives in India approximately in early June. The monsoon season in India lasts between 100 and 120 days, from early June to mid-September. The monsoon arrives in the southern tip of the Indian peninsula in the first week of June.
A monsoon is a seasonal wind system that blows from the sea to land in the summer and from the sea to the land in the winter. The Indian Monsoon is made up of massive convection cells. They are regular or secondary winds that have their wind direction reversed on a regular basis.

As previously stated, the monsoon season starts in India in early June. It then reaches the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal branches. The monsoon arrives over Saurashtra-Kuchchh and the central part of the country by mid-June.
The monsoon arrives in India in early June for the following reasons:
- The low-pressure condition over the northern plains will intensify by early June.
- Thus, the trade winds of the southern hemisphere are attracted.
- The southeast trade winds originate over the warm subtropical areas of the southern oceans.
- They enter the Indian peninsula as a southwest monsoon by crossing the equator.
Monsoon in India
India experiences the monsoon and receives heavy rainfall from June to mid-September. Occasionally, a few areas become flooded as a result of increased rainfall. Plain areas are primarily affected by this.
Aside from that, some states have excellent rainwater harvesting systems that enable them to use rainwater. Rainwater harvesting is practiced in states such as Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.
