Crops that are sown during the southwest monsoon season are known as Kharif crops. Due to their high water requirements, they are sometimes called monsoon crops. India’s season is known to last from the end of June to the beginning of November. This guarantees that the Kharif crops are planted at the beginning of the rainy season before the first rains fall and are harvested at the end of the rainy season.
