There is no atmosphere on the moon because the gravitational field on the moon is too weak to retain any atmosphere. It has no water and no magnetic field. Earth has only one moon.

Answer: The gravitational field on the moon is too weak to retain any atmosphere hence there is no atmosphere on the moon.

The moon along with the stars, planets, and other objects in the sky are called celestial objects. It is the brightest object in the night sky. The day when the whole disc of the moon is visible is known as the full moon day. On the fifteenth day, the moon is not visible. This day is known as the ‘new moon day’. The small portion of the moon that appears in the sky on the next day is known as the crescent moon.
