The emitter of a transistor is heavily doped. The emitter is made heavily doped so that it can easily be injected in a large number of charge carriers into the base. These carriers are mainly electrons or holes. On the other hand, the base is always lightly doped and very thin so that it can pass most of the emitter injected charge carriers to the collector. Other than this, the collector is always moderately doped.
