The physical quantity that has magnitude but not direction is called Scalar Quantity. The examples of scalar quantities are speed, volume, energy, density, mass and time.

Answer: A quantity that has only magnitude and but not direction is called a scalar quantity.

It is expressed by a numerical value and a physical unit (for example 10 cm) to provide its physical meaning. Some properties of scalar quantities are that their product is commutative; the scalar product or dot product of two parallel vectors is equal to the product of their magnitudes, scalar product of two mutually perpendicular vectors is zero, etc.

Which of the following is a Scalar Quantity?

Scalar quantity has only magnitude but not direction. The dot product of two vectors is described as the product of the magnitudes of both the vectors and the cosine of the angle between them.
