When acid reacts with metal carbonate water, carbon di oxide and salt is/are formed. In a reaction of acid and metal carbonate the The gas produced is carbon dioxide and the product produced is water. In a general reaction of acids and carbonate result obtain can be in gases and product. When acid reacts with carbonates salt, water and carbon dioxide are made.

Answer: When acid reacts with metal carbonate water, carbon di oxide and salt is/are formed.
The reaction can be defined as acid + metal carbonate → salt + water + carbon dioxide. The reaction of metal carbonates with acids is termed as exothermic. In just reactions heat energy is given out. Such reactions are often used to test unknown solutions so as to check if they are acidic or not. If by adding a carbonate to the solution, carbon dioxide gas is released, it can prove that the solution is acidic. In such cases, the carbon dioxide that is released may cause bubbling during the reaction. This can observed as fizzing. The carbon dioxide in such reactions can be detected by passing the gas through limewater. The limewater will get cloudy and thus proves that there is a presence of carbon dioxide in the reaction.
Summary:
When acid reacts with metal carbonate__ is/are formed?
When acid reacts with metal carbonate water, carbon di oxide and salt is/are formed. Acid + Metal carbonate ⟶ Salt + Water + Carbon dioxide. The reaction of metal carbonates with acids is termed as exothermic.
