GPSC Age Limit

As per the GPSC, educational qualifications for the GPCS Class 1 and 2 exam are as given:

  • The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification  from a recognized University.
  • Aspirants must have knowledge of basic computers.
  • Candidates must know Hindi/Gujarati/both.

GPSC Eligibility: Other Details

  • The number of attempts: There is no upper limit mentioned on the number of attempts for GPSC exam 2022. Candidates must ensure that they have not crossed the upper age limit that is prescribed by the Commission. 
  • Work Experience: As per the official GPSC eligibility criteria, there is no prior work experience required for the exam. 
  • Nationality/Citizenship: The candidate must be a citizen of India. For reservation benefits, the candidate must have a domicile in Gujarat

  • GPSC eligibility criteria 2022 is defined by the exam organizing body which is the Gujarat Public Service Commission. The GPSC eligibility for Class 1, 2 services, states that candidates must have a bachelor's degree from any recognized university and college. In addition to this, the age limit must be between 20 to 36 years to appear for the GPSC exam.

  • GPSC Qualification should be that the candidate should have their graduation from a recognized university. Any candidate who fails to get a Bachelor’s degree is not allowed to fill out the application form. 

  • GPSC age limit for the exam is between 25 years to 365 years. GPSC has also provided the age relaxation is also applicable for GPSC class 1 & 2 posts only for Gujarat domicile candidates. The SC/ ST/ EWS/ Women candidates have a relaxation of 5 years whereas for PWD candidates the relaxation is 5 years.

  • There is no restriction on the number of attempts for GPSC exam. However, the candidate must ensure that they have not crossed the upper age limit that is prescribed by the Commission. Candidates can appear as many times as they wish for GPSC exam 2022.

  • Yes, there is an age relaxation for the reserved category candidates in GPSC exam for Gujarat domicile candidates only. GPSC age relaxation for SC/ST/EWS/ Womenan and Ex-Servicemen candidates have an age relaxation of can appear for a maximum  will be 5 years whereas PWD candidates will get an additional 10 years of relaxation.
