RPSC RAS Selection Process 2022 is released by the authorities for the recruitment of various posts. Candidates must be aware of the selection process as it will help them prepare better for the exam. Knowing the selection process helps candidates divide their time between the preparation for different stages.

RPSC RAS section process includes a preliminary exam, mains exam and interview. Authorities release cutoffs after each stage. Candidates who clear the cut-offs for one stage are selected to appear in the next one. The selection in RPSC RAS is based on these cutoffs. RPSC RAS Selection Process 2022

The latest RPSC RAS Selection Process is discussed here for all the candidates who are interested in the Rajasthan Administration Services (RAS) exam. Candidates who are planning to appear for the exam must go through all phases of the selection process. The process has three stages viz., preliminary exam, mains exam, and Viva-voce or interview. The selection is done based on a cut-off for each stage.

RPSC RAS Selection Stages

The RPSC RAS selection process involves three stages. The stages are prelims, mains, and interviews. Candidates can check the details of each stage below:

  • Preliminary Exam: The preliminary examination is the screening test. The exam is going to be conducted in offline mode. The questions are multiple-choice questions. The online paper in prelims tests the general knowledge of candidates.
  • Mains Exam: The candidates who successfully clear the preliminary cutoff marks are summoned for the mains exam. The RPSC RAS mains has 4 papers. All the questions are of the descriptive type in the mains exam. The level of the exam is graduate level.

Interview: The last but not least stage is the interview/ personality test. Here a panel appointed by the commission will test the presence of mind, mental abilities, judgment capabilities, and practical knowledge.

RPSC RAS Selection Process of Prelims Exam

The RPSC RAS prelims exam is the first stage for recruitment of the exam. The prelims exam is qualifying in nature, the nonserious candidates will be screen out from this stage.

  • The exam will be conducted in online mode.
  • All the questions are objective-type multiple-choice questions.
  • The exam will be conducted for 200 marks. Candidates will get only 3 hours to attempt 150 questions. 
  • All the questions will be of graduation level. 
  • Unlike UPSC IAS and other state PCS exams, the RPSC RAS prelims have only one paper.

RPSC RAS Selection Process of Mains Exam

Candidates who clear the prelim cutoff marks will be called to appear for the RPSC RAS Mains exam. The mains highlight of the Mains exam are:

  • The number of candidates for the mains exam will be approximately 15 times the number of vacancies.
  • The exam has four descriptive-type papers in the RPSC RAS mains exam.
  • Candidates will get 3 hours to attempt the exam.
  • There are three general studies papers and one language exam.
  • The general studies papers are of graduation level, whereas the language paper is senior secondary level.
  • There is no optional paper-like UPSC and other PSC exams.

RPSC RAS Interview Process

Candidates who secure the mains cutoff marks are called for the Interview or Personality Test. This is the final test of the selection process of the RPSC RAS exam. However, candidates who qualify in the interview round will be summoned for the document verification and medical examination as well:

  • The commission will set up a committee for interviewing the candidates, the interview will evaluate the character, personality, physique, and situation handling of the candidate.
  • The total marks of the RPSC RAS Interview/ Personality test are 100 marks.
  • The marks of the Interview will be added to the final list of the exam.

RPSC RAS Document Verification

Candidates who are called for the Interview process will have to produce the original documents at the time of the Interview. The commission will verify all the documents furnished in original to support the eligibility for the exam. The list of the document is given below which may get changed depending on the board’s decision.

  • 10th class certificate and mark sheet.
  • 12th class certificate and mark sheet.
  • Print out of application form,
  • Graduation final mark sheet.
  • Graduation certificate.
  • Transfer certificate.
  • Category certificate (if applicable).
  • PwD certificate (if applicable), etc.
