MH SET eligibility 2022 is mandatory to fulfill by every candidate who is planning or preparing to appear in the exam. The Savitribai Phule University conducts this state-level entrance test annually to hire eligible candidates for the post of Assistant professor in colleges or universities in Maharashtra and Goa states. MH SET Education Qualification 2022

The candidates must have a Master’s Degree from a recognized university by UGC in a subject listed in the MH SET syllabus. Also, the minimum required score is fixed for the reserved and unreserved categories of applicants. Apart from this, there are some points below that applicants should keep in mind.

  • Applicants studying for a Master's degree or equivalent degree will be eligible to apply for the exam as they fulfill MH SET eligibility 2022.
  • Candidates in the general category should have at least 55% marks in Post graduation.
  • OBC/DT(VJ)/ SBC/NT candidates who belong to the non-creamy layer would be eligible if they scored 50% in their Master's degree.
  • According to MH SET, educational qualification, SC/ST//Trans-genders/PwD category applicants should have 50% marks in Post graduation.


Remember that reserved category candidates of another state will be treated as General applicants, according to the reservation policy of Maharashtra and Goa State.

Candidates must note that no particular upper age limit is specified under the released MH SET Eligibility Criteria 2022. It means candidates of any age can apply to appear in the Maharashtra State Eligibility Test. Who's not eligible for MH SET Exam 2022?

As per the MH SET eligibility 2022, there are some fixed rules for candidates who can not appear in the exam. Before applying for the exam, candidates must check that they do not fall into any below-mentioned points.

  • According to U.G.C. guidelines, candidates who have completed an M.Sc. (via PPPR/Research) are not eligible to appear in the MH SET 2022.
  • Candidates enrolled in the first year of a two-year master's program, the first two semesters of a four-year master's program or the fourth year of a five-year integrated master's program will not be eligible to take this test.
  • A candidate who has previously qualified for MH SET in a subject will not be permitted to sit for SET in that subject again.
