MH SET Eligibility Criteria 2021, Download pdf

The Savitribai Phule Pune University has released the MH SET Eligibility Criteria 2021. It is really essential to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the MHSET examination. Candidates from across the country are eligible to appear for MH SET 2021 examination. However, the reservation policies are applicable to the candidates belonging to the states of Goa and Maharashtra. A candidate should only apply if he/she meets all prescribed eligibility criteria such as age criteria, minimum educational qualification, number of attempts and so on. If the candidate fails to fulfil the MHSET Eligibility Criteria 2021 criteria, his/her candidature stands cancelled.

MH SET Education Qualification

The candidates must have a Master’s Degree recognized by U.G.C., in a subject of SET. The candidates having Post Graduate degree by University recognized Indian Universities from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi (www.aiu.ac.in)

  • Applicants who are studying a Master's degree or comparable course and who have taken their qualifying Master's degree (final year) examination and have yet to receive their results, or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been postponed, are all eligible to take this test.
  • Candidates can appear for SET in the subject of their Post Graduation only. The table below shall provide the aspirants with an understanding of the Subject-Wise MH SET Minimum Qualification required for the post of Assistant Professor.

MHSET Education Qualification norms set by authorities require the General candidates to have scored an aggregate of 55% marks in their respective degree. Other candidates belonging to reserved categories must have scored an aggregate of 50% in their respective degree.

Who is not eligible for MH SET Exam 2021?

  • Candidates who have completed an M.Sc. (via PPPR/Research) are not eligible to take the SET, according to U.G.C. guidelines.
  • Candidates who are enrolled in the first year of a two-year master's programme, the first two semesters of a four-year master's programme, or the fourth year of a five-year integrated master's programme are not eligible to take this test.
  • A candidate who has previously qualified for SET in a topic will not be permitted to sit for SET in that subject again.

  • The MH SET eligibility is combinedly for both the states together. There will not be any separate eligibility criteria for Goa alone.
