MH SET Eligibility 2023 is a list of conditions that every candidate must satisfy to be eligible for the upcoming exam. No candidate will be able to appear for the competitive exam in case they are ineligible as per the eligibility criteria. Savitribai Phule Pune University has released the MH SET Eligibility 2023 requirements in the latest exam notification. It is essential to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the MH SET Exam. There are a few requirements listed under the eligibility criteria, such as the MH SET Age limit, educational qualifications, nationality, and work experience. The exam conducting authority will immediately declare a candidate's registration invalid if they do not meet the requirements of MH SET Eligibility. MH SET Age Limit

Candidates need to meet the age limit requirements listed under MH SET Eligibility 2023 since it decides whether they will be eligible to take the exam or not.   • Candidates should be informed that there is no specified upper age limit for the exam as per MH SET Eligibility 2023.

MH SET Eligibility 2023: Number of Attempts

MH SET Qualification

Similar to the age limit, the SPPU has also prescribed educational qualifications for candidates interested in the exam. Knowing the educational qualification requirement will enable candidates to ascertain whether they satisfy these requirements for the exam. Candidates must check out the information below to know more about the educational requirements listed under the MH SET Eligibility 2023.

  • Candidates need to have finished their master's degree in a SET subject that has been approved by UGC university.
  • Candidates must have a postgraduate degree, diploma, or certificate from an Indian university or institute or a foreign degree, diploma, or certificate from any foreign university or institute.
  • Candidates must have received at least 55% of the possible marks in their Master's or equivalent examination (without a bonus or rounding off) to satisfy the MH SET Eligibility.
  • Reserved category candidates ( OBC/ SBC/DT(VJ)/NT or SC/ST /Trans-genders/PwD) must possess 50% marks in master's degree or equivalent.
  • Candidates who are still pursuing their master's degree course or have appeared in the final year examination may also apply for the examination.

 Remember that reserved category candidates of another state will be treated as General applicants, according to the reservation policy of Maharashtra and Goa State.

MH SET Nationality

Candidates must meet the nationality requirements according to the MH SET Eligibility 2023. They can check out the nationality criteria set by the authorities below.

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • Candidates from different states can also apply, but they have to fulfill all the requirements asked by the University.

MH SET Eligibility - Work Experience

According to MH SET Eligibility, candidates applying for the SET exam for various posts are not required to have any prior work experience. The eligibility criteria for the MH SET only require candidates to have a Master's degree or equivalent degree with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for candidates belonging to reserved categories) from a recognized university/institution.

However, having work experience in the relevant field can be an added advantage for candidates, as it can demonstrate their practical knowledge and understanding of the subject matter. Additionally, some universities and colleges may prefer candidates with work experience when hiring for the position of Assistant Professor.

Hence, while work experience is not a requirement listed under MH SET Eligibility 2023, it can be beneficial for candidates who will be appearing for the exam.

MH SET Reservation Criteria

Important Points for MH SET Eligibility

As per the MH SET Eligibility, there are some fixed rules for candidates who are appearing for the exam. Before applying for the exam, candidates must check that they do not fall into any below-mentioned points.

  • According to U.G.C. guidelines, candidates who have completed an M.Sc. (via PPPR/Research) are not eligible to appear for MH SET.
  • Candidates enrolled in the first year of a two-year master's program, the first two semesters of a four-year master's program, or the fourth year of a five-year integrated master's program will not be eligible to take this test.
  • A candidate who previously qualified the State Eligibility Test for a subject will not be permitted to sit for that subject again.

  • To satisfy the MH SET Eligibility 2023, every candidate needs to have finished their master's degree in a SET subject that UGC has approved. The eligibility conditions also mention that the candidate must be an Indian citizen. However, to apply for MH SET Exam, there is no upper age limit for the candidates.

  • As per MH SET Eligibility, Candidates who completed their MSc through PPPR or research cannot appear for the exam, in addition to those who do not hold a Master's degree.
