The level of this section was Moderate. This section was the most time consuming of all the three sections due to calculative and slightly tricky questions.

1. Data Interpretation -

  • Number of Questions asked: 20 (4 sets)
  • Topic level: Easy to Moderate
  • A line graph based Data Interpretation was asked.
  • A tabular based data interpretation was asked.
  • Pie-chart based Data Interpretation was also asked.
  • A caselet DI was asked. The level of this DI was slightly tough.

2. Number Series -

  • Number of Questions asked: 5
  • Topic level: Easy 
  • Wrong number pattern based series was asked.
  • The pattern of the questions asked was based on difference pattern, double difference pattern, multiplication, and square pattern.

3. Approximation -

  • Number of Questions asked: 5
  • Topic level: Easy
  • Easily doable questions based on BODMAS rule were asked.

4. Quadratic Equation -

  • Number of Questions asked: 5
  • Topic level: Moderate
  • The factors of the questions were not very tricky.

5. Miscellaneous Questions 

  • Number of Questions asked: 15
  • Topic level: Moderate
  • Questions in this segment were asked from various arithmetic problems like Simple & Compound Interest,  Profit & Loss, Time & Work, Partnership, Speed, time & distance, Percentages, Age-based problems etc.

Reasoning Ability Review of LIC HFL Assistant Manager Exam 2018

This section was scoring for candidates. The level of the questions was easy as well as less time-consuming. There were less puzzle and seating arrangement questions as compared to other slots. We are sharing the topic wise breakup of Reasoning section below –

1. Puzzles and Seating Arrangement -

  • Number of Questions asked: 20
  • Level of questions: Moderate
  • One floor based Puzzle was asked. It had 5 questions.
  • One question from Linear Seating Arrangement was asked.

2. Syllogism -

  • Number of Questions asked: 5
  • Topic level: Easy
  • Questions were direct and easy to attempt. 
  • Statements in questions and conclusion in option-based old pattern Syllogism questions were asked.

3. Inequality -

  • Number of Questions asked: 5
  • Topic level: Easy
  • Direct Inequality based questions were asked in the exam.

3. Input Output -

  • Number of Questions asked: 5
  • Topic level: Easy
  • The level of the questions was easy and pattern was easily recognizable.
  • Direct Inequality based questions were asked in the exam.

4. Miscellaneous Questions-

  • Number of Questions asked: 15
  • Topic level: Easy to Moderate
  • There were 5 questions from Direction sense.
  • There were 5 questions from Blood Relation.
  • There were 2-3 questions from alphabet coding etc.

English Language Review of LIC HFL Assistant Manager Exam 2018

English Section did not scare the candidates this time as there were no new pattern questions introduced. The level of the questions asked was easy to moderate. Following topics were asked in this section –

 1. Reading Comprehension -

  • Number of Questions asked: 16 (2 Sets)
  • Topic level:  Moderate
  • 2 sets of Reading Comprehension was asked. One RC was based on 'Detoxification' topic.
  • There were 4-4 vocabulary based questions in both RCs.

2. Fill in the blanks -

  • Number of Questions asked: 5
  • Topic level: Easy to Moderate
  • In fillers questions, A sentence was given in which one word was highlighted. The candidates were required to replace that highlighted word with the correct word from the options.

3.  Error Spotting -

  • Number of Questions asked: 5
  • Topic level: Easy to Moderate
  • Questions based on basic rules of Grammar were asked. 
  • A sentence was divided into different parts. The candidates need to identify which part has an error.

4. Cloze Test -

  • Number of Questions asked: 10
  • Topic level: Moderate
  • The topic was based on ''Harmful effects of cosmetic products on skin".

General Awareness Review of LIC HFL Assistant Manager Exam 2018

  • This section was moderate in terms of difficulty level. Many questions were asked from Banking awareness. Questions were from current affairs, insurance, and finance, static awareness was also asked. 
  • Current affairs of last 6 months were included. But most of the current affairs were asked from the month of June, July, and August.
  • Some questions asked are as following :
    1. Which state launched Anna canteen?
    2. Stake of LIC in IDBI
    3. HQ of IDBI
    4. Manama is capital of which country.
    5. Hima Das is from which state?
    6. Alamatti Dam built across which river
